//He has been prescribed antidepressants, but (I think) not taking them. //
So if what you say is true and I think I have read similar from him in the past then I maintain he is wasting everyone's time and just hopes to engender self pity.
Lets hope geordie comes back to me with a rebuttal but I won't hold my breath.

I have been to see my GP and been prescribed citalopram 10mg for 1 week and then to increase to 20mg after a fortnight. I spoke to my GP and he was very sympathetic the fact that I am talking about feeling suicidal is a good thing and my local psych ward just doesnt have enough beds to admit everyone feeling suicdal. I shut myself away for a few days. I have started the medication and not feeling any better yet but I know it takes a while for it to work. I have spoken to the samaritans 3 times over the last few days and I think they do a great job. I was in a bad place and had considered stopping my diabetic medication and eating loads of sugar for a few days and I told my doctor that and he said it is unlikely it would work and I may get terrible complications in months to come. So I am trying to work things through as best as I can the suicidal thoughts are still there but I have continued to reject them for the last 5 days. Thanks for all your feedback. Kyles mum I know someone who jumped off Kinnoul Hill many years ago and it was incredibly sad and unexpected. There really needs to be some fence put up there.

I was brought up with the same ethos..I brought my kids up with the same ethos but i also told them to never lie. They dont lie..it has been to their detriment at times but they truly don't know better, that's the truth. It has been painful at times...I don't jest.
