Sometimes people need to be told...its called tough love....facilitating negative behaviors doesn't always work -well actually never works. Sometimes a swift 'wake up' call, a sensible if hard to swallow answer actually is what the person needs. In this case Gordie was quite happy with Km's answer. What is there to argue or beach about -nothing ;-)

Careful what you post then. Read mine at 2334.It really cannot be that difficult to understand but it would seem you have difficulties but you wouldn't follow advice to help yourself with these "difficulties". Jump in all guns blazing and start reporting people. Best you lie down and you may feel better tomorrow. That is the advice you gave earlier isn't it?

Pretty much what I posted at 0004. A hard answer is probably more helpful in the long run than soft useless "there there platitudes" that seem the vogue here.

This thread would make ideal research material for a future thesis for someone to try: "Social attitudes to mental illness in the Britain of 2015".
Also, if person A says or writes a combination of words and persons B, C, D and myself perfeive a meaning, in those words, other than was intended then surely the communication difficulty lies with person A?
Mysteriously, person S comprehended the initial word combination perfectly and couldn't wait to tell everybody how stupid they thought the ones (the majority), who misunderstood the meaning, were.
"Some people here are so gullible, they should volunteer for Samaritans." implies that gullibility is the ideal qualification for the job.
That idea has time to sink in ("leaving an impression") before the follow up about it broadening their experience. Inserting the word "because" before the second section would have prevented most readers from forming an impression until they'd reached the end of the sentence.
Now, grammar never brought any criminals to justice and Retrocop is retired so there's nothing in it for him in picking up new tricks.
All I will say is that clear communication and attention paid to ensuring no ambiguity saves *everybody* a lot of misunderstanding, heated debate, stress, anger and, above all, typing.

@gordie
Glad to hear you've got some meds and that you're coping during the time it takes for them to build up in your system and properly take effect.
If you have leftover diazepam, read the warnings in the leaflet again. If I recall correctly you are not supposed to take it while on anti-depressants.
Take any unused tablets back to the pharmacist, for safe disposal. Do not flush them down the loo and do not dispose of them in bin bags as a burst bag means they can end up in the street, where kids might mistake them for sweets.
How much coffee, tea, cola and other caffeinated products (eg Red Bull) are you consuming? They will give you racing thoughts and inability to sleep, if you overdo it.

Gordie....good to see you posting.
Glad you went to the doc's.....best of luck with the meds...be patient + give them time to kick in,...it can take a few weeks.
Don't take any notice of what I believe are known as the "haters" in modern parlance on here. Many people haven't got the first clue what mental illness can entail.
Good luck,

sensible suggestion compared to some on this thread
difficulty is that the study group ( AB contributors ) is a self-selected group ...
as far as I can see (!) retrocops attitude is typical of his age group and job and explains in some way the number of suicides in Police custody - and that the way to reduce them is re-education
