Hospital Records

Stupid question I know, but how do you about getting your hospital records?
My son who was attacked and left for dead- well I have got him a solicitor on a no win no fee basis and he has all the photos so far, but need his hospital records. I’ve never ever done this so how do I (or my son) do this? X

If not it's pointless.
A DBS check costs £25. You can do it online. It hasn't been called CRB for years but he shouldn't need to do it

You need to give us more information, Smow. Who are you claiming from?
Normally when a solicitor needs hospital records he asks you to sign a consent form and deals with it, charging you a lot of money for his time.
You can do this yourself for nothing, I have provided the link above.
If you are claiming compensation from the CICA they will get the medical records themselves at no charge to you.
Same as the previous question - what are you hoping to achieve?
The CICA will NOT pay your solicitors costs (because you don't need to use one to claim) so if he "wins" it will come out of your son's compensation.

Smow can understand you want to do the best for your son. Think you are rushing things and getting yourself in a bit of a tiz (technical term). Until there is a trial and conviction, nothing you can do privately. Your son will be awarded any compensation due at the end of the trial if anyone is found guilty. Your solicitor friend should have advised you of this instead of getting you running around getting paperwork together that probably will not be required. IMO just leave things for the time being.
Your son has two years to claim from CICA. In the meantime get a copy of his hospital records as it costs nothing within the first 40 days of admission.
Make your son keep a diary. A record of the assault; his injuries; treatment; every penny he has spent on prescriptions and OTC medicines and peripherals, travel to and from appointments. Loss of earnings. Psychological effects. How the assault has affected his work, his social life and day to day activities.
Also a record of everything that was stolen and damaged during the assault such as clothing and glasses.
Keep receipts. Take lots of photos.
