I don’t believe the jab was given as a preventative to infection, but more to stop premature deaths and hospitalisation. It appears to have worked in that respect.

There rising ( well level really) because most restrictions have been lifted and we're doing loads of tests plus vacs wear off slowly

Schools and most unis are fully open, pubs and cinemas / theatres, football grounds, holidays abroad, busy shops and transport. And colder weather so more indoor mixing. Figures are quite good considering all that

suppose you have a room full of people, and some have covid, and one day 2 people are vaccinated and the next day 3 or 4 so it doubles and the rest of the room of some hundred still get covid.....

Oz - They THOUGHT 60% would protect and Oz is just touching that and it is unprotected because - - as we know ( even NJ knows) that it gets more virulent during an epidemic, (*) so the necessary level of protection rises....

(*)if it DIDN'T get more virulent it would die out....so the fact it is still here means - - - it must have (reacted to) got more virulent

Sorry for your loss nail it but the vaccination is not a cure it is meant to prevent less suffering of the virus to it's extreme conclusion... for the vulnerable so their bodies have a good chance of fighting it, younger folk do still have a stronger immune system than most.

.... and whilst we are at it - - you can track those that should be dying ( sort of somewhat like a few years ago) and those that did die - - and find a huge excess which you can put down to covid

Barring a sudden surge the numbers of deaths (with, not from) Covid are pretty much stable as are the numbers of people in hospital. The R number (transmission rate) in England the last time I looked was below one, so hopefully the worst is past.
