What age were you?!
A wee question which jumped to mind after recent chicken pox posting. Like DavidUk I had it as an adult, although it was my first (and hopefully last!) dose.
It was extremely unpleasant and I didn't feel well for months afterwards.
I was 34, is this quite old to get it or have people had it at even more advanced ages?!
I had it when I was a kid, (can't remember what age) but I also got it again when I was 28, bloody horrible, in my ears, my mouth, my hair, my nuts, everywhere. Hope I never get it again!
the younger the better. in babies (especially breastfed) chicken pox barely affects them. this is why chicken pox vax is a bad idea. it postpones getting it until you're older when it is more dangerous and u can get shingles.
Oops, transmitted too soon. Presumably one can get the disease for the first time at any age if not previously exposed. Usually it has swept through as an epidemic because, I believe, it is quite contageous and school children tend to fall to it in droves. As a consequence, people tend to have had it at a young age but obviously some don't and therefore will have effectively no resistance specifically to this disease when it mounts a successful invasion.
I was around 6 when I had it. It is usually much worse for adults, I remember reading in a Clash biography that Mick Jones caught it in his 30's from his daughter and he developed pneumonia and nearly died.
About 10 ish for me i think, i got it as a kid anyway. All i know is this: You can get it at any age but more common as a child. And it becomes more serious the older you are. And you can only ever get it once, You cant catch it a second time.
