The employer has to make reasonable allowance for the discomfort by supplying access to drinking water and somewhere to take a break.
Froggo, I've sussed you from your posts. You have had a very heavy drinking binge weekend, you are still feeling pants and you need to skive off work for a couple of days and you would like to play the 'It's too hot to work card'.
Thats the bloody trouble with this country, a bit of heat and everyone wants the day off, a bit of cold and it's the same.
You're suffering from dehydration due to the alcohol and it's even made you sick. I suggest you eat a nice fried egg butty, drink loads of water, take a nice big bottle of water to work with you and GET ON WITH IT!
Failing that, tell them your gran died and spend a nice day in the garden.

This is exactly like my work place. Today it was 92 degrees in there and everyone felt they were going to pass out but no1 does **** they wont even put the big fans on it is a joke and surely it must be illegal to work in that heat? i was dehydrated - ran out of drink, the workplace as it is so crap ran out of cold drinks and drinking plain water makes me heave (ive never been able to drink it for some reason)... i felt so ill i asked what time the cafe over the road was open til and one of the supervisors asked if i could go get one and the manager laughed in our faces and said no and walked off - surely this isnt right?
