Hi Out there...feeling a bit down. Today was my weekly weigh in and have again put on 1 lb. making it a total of 6 pounds in a couple of months. I have doing Rosemary Connely since last Sept and managed to loose 10 kilos.
My doctor had given me pills to help keep my hunger down ( I didn't think they did) but now they have been taken off the market. (can't remember their name)

I am eating the same and exercising every day (am 70 yrs old) so I just wanted some support really. I shall keep on of course but it is so annoying to see numbers going the wrong way.

Yer I spose its got I'm not putting on but past 3 weeks I've stayed the same. I'm not huge but my BMI is high for my height 5'5". I'd just like to ton up and get down to 10 would be nice
I was really pleased to find this thread, I have put on weight since giving up smoking 11 months ago, I'm told that eventually you reach a plateau where you don't gain any more, wish I knew how long that takes. I've gained 2 stones so I'll be 12st 8lb considering that I'm 5ft 3" I feel round and blobby at the moment. I had a hip replacement last September so I was taking things easy for 6 months, but for the last 5 months the weight gain crept up on me. I'm 69 now and I must start to lose the weight. I jumped from a size 12-14 to 16-18. My GP has given me dietry advise and I am seeing a physio for back pain, and suitable exercises for hip replacement patients. I know my downfall is bread and butter and pies. So maybe I'll try harder now I have found like-minded people.
Hi gran, I think this is a great idea, I too am thrilled with this thread. I was 11st 8 (and happy with it) in 1993 when I had my hysterectomy - it's crept on since then, and I know I don't eat properly during the day at work. I've started taking pasta at lunchtime to keep my energy levels up, I hope it works. My stamina needs support - my mum worked til she was 73 so I have a great role model, and I enjoy the job but I know I eat comfort food when I'm too whacked to eat properly. I think the weekly weigh-in (without having to go out in the rain to Weight Watchers and pay 'em a fiver!) will be a great incentive. ABFLABS - yay!
what day do we have to weigh ?
Today 4get, so next Weds now.
well;i weighed in at W.W. and put on another lb.all in i have lost 3 stone in a year, but i'm scared in case it creeps back on,i eat out often and my leader thinks thats where my problem lies.
I like to eat out too slinky, and the OH likes to go to the pub once a week. so I'm a bit lost as to what I can drink without adding the calories, and is there such a thing as a slimming Chinese meal?
It's easy to put on weight after a hysterectomy boxy, I had one in 1979 and gained a stone, it took a while to lose the extra weight then.
I ordered myself an exercise bicycle today so hopefully i'll be able to get back on track with my weight loss. I have no idea how I managed to gain 2lbs since last week but I am now more determined to keep up with it all and hopefully the cycling will help to improve my lung function a little too :)
well i seem to be invisible on this thread, everyone else has been acknowledged one way or another for their little contribution :o( ...ahwell never mind .....
keep up the good work ladies, and well done to you all ... night.
oh loobyloo,i'm here,i have type 2 diabetes as well,do you have a lot of weight to lose,i have?
I apologise for not acknowledging you loooby :(
Don't feel that it was deliberate on the part of any of us.

I hope you will continue to post on this thread and we can all support each other as the weeks go by.
sorry looby, not deliberate ;_0
Sorry looby, you look so pretty, it's difficult to think of you having a weight problem. My brother in law has diabetes and cut out certain foods, he's lost quite a bit of weight now.

I think I'm going to have to buy some new scales the ones I have aren't very accurate, I don't usually weigh myself at all
thanks, its ok ... my post wasnt very interesting anyway... so not to worry...
Is that you in the avatar Loooby? You remind me of a very young Nerys Hughes (the actress). I always thought she had one of the prettiest and friendliest faces :)

Oh dear, it's awful to feel invisible when you take the time to write in. I have also sinned in not recognizing all the answers, please excuse me. There are just so many.
I didn't know you put on weight after a hysterectomy. I had a radical one in 99.
To those suffering from back ache I can assure you that with the weight loss that problem will also disappear.
My husband gave me a good example of what I had lost. He handed me a 10 kilo bag of grill briquettes and told me that is how much I had lost. Then it really hit home.
To each and everyone of you thank you for writing in. I had an idea for a name: The Cyber Achievers...........what do you think. Help me here with more ideas.
i think we should have a new sticky named ab weight watchers as not alot know what this post is about. Cant be called achievers as some would feel bad when they put on.
Until I reached the age of 38 I was 9 stone and had been that weight since age 17 (I'm 5ft 7"). At 38 I had to have a life-saving hysterectomy and within a year I had put on 2 stone! In the years since I've put on another 3 stone - and rising.I eat exactly the same, still walk my dogs about 7 miles every day but the Dr says it is nothing to do with the hysterectomy. Well, if someone can show me a cat or dog that hasn't got a bit fat and lazy since being spayed I'll be very surprised. It is so very depressing especially as I am so much fitter than a lot of the slim people I know. I'd love to know the answer.
Looobyloo I apologise too for not acknowledging you but it wasn't deliberate. I am no expert in how to lose weight if people have a medical problem that is why this post is excellent so that people with medical problems can give people ideas as to how they coped with their weight loss. I just have a weight problem and to lose just a lb is a bonus so don't give up.I am on my 10th week and have lost 2lbs and 1 lb most weeks then 2 weeks ago I stayed the same but lost 2 lbs this week. I have lost 1 stone and 3 lbs and aim to lose the 2 stone by end of oct then will try for another before xmas and anything after that will be a bonus.
4GETNENOT . I don't think there is any need for a new sticky. We are going to get mixed up who is who now we have started . We all know this thread is about weight loss and to share our ideas. We are beginning to not acknowledge some people but should be ok once we remember who is who.
