does anyone know where I can buy maple sugar, cream and butter from a uk mail order company? I know I can get it straight from Canada and the US but the p and p and customs make this very expensive.

It was lovely in the sunshine and on our walk to the next village we met people we rarely see as we are so widely spaced - cycling, on horses and even another scooter user. Chats from a very safe distances and so much camaraderie! The countryside looked so beautiful. I actually now have some colour in my cheeks. Had a scare yesterday when it was thought a neighbour's daughter had been working with someone with the virus, but it turned out to be a false alarm. Keep safe.
I had to go out today to post a tax form for uk! Had to wait I the rain for 30.mins one I one out! That'll kill me if nothing else does. Tried to put money in out bank and send some to hija. But her bank is closed and my bank wa useless as I'm not used to all this. Couldn't find how to do it , tried 3 atms!! She has bought a tablet to amuse herself until this situation improves ! I snuck out again under cover of darkness to dispose legally of the rubbish and recycling. It was dark and lonely and I was masked up and I was frightened it was just so surreal!!
There's no way I would ride a mobility scooter! I'd prefer a motorbike if things get that bad!!

Be no good me having a scooter.I'd be up before the beak for dangerous driving.
I'm quite happy with my wheelie.
We went out and clapped. Quite a few people along our end of the road were out.Our local hospital is the biggest employer here and there are a couple of doctors who live a few houses down from us.
Picky has been furloughed or whatever it is they're calling it but at least his firm has said he'll be paid the 80%.
My hairdresser rang me and we had a natter. She's had to shut up shop.Hopefully she'll be OK now they've given out something for the self employed. She only lives round the road and said not to hesitate to text if we need anything urgently and she'll do what she can which is really kind of her.
I've been whatsapping with my old schoolfriend in Winchester this afternoon and emailing the husband of the other one this evening. She is now losing her short term memory. He said she's lost a lot of confidence and relies heavily on him now for a lot of things. It's so sad.I still write to her but she doesn't reply but he said she seems pleased to get a letter and he reads it out to her and it cheers her up.
Otherwise all quiet.
Night all.

Each to their own but I wouldnt just wouldnt. Apart from the fact that I live on rough terrain and no way would it ever get to my villa. We all have our crosses to bear and it would take forever to list mine ! Hard as it is I make myself walk up and down to village daily apart from now when we are in lockdown.
Neti. Your post really hurt. I simply cannot walk anywhere without a wheelie like Shaney has. Even then I can only get a very short distance. Since last year my condition has really deteriorated and my scooter means I can actually do things. Yesterday was great for me. I sincerely hope you never have to experience not being able to get out and about. You never know what awaits you in life.
Shaney, my scooter isn't allowed on roads. I would be a disaster on the roads. It's Just a low powered one that fits into the car boot. We had to get a new (second hand) car a while ago because ì can't get in or out of a low car. Ihe scooter can be taken apart to fit into a large boot. I am doing my best to keep mobile have a wheelie which was great for about 4 years, but now can only use it for very, very short distances. The scooter means I can actually get about again especially in the summer. I can now get out down our quiet country lanes or gets along the proms at Sheringham and Cromer. I was getting fed up of having to stay in the car when Vik takes the dog for a walk. Roll on summer!
Morning all...oooh it's chilly out there. Looks like it's going to be even colder and dull from tomorrow so make the most of it.
I can't say whether I'd have a scooter or not, thankfully I'm not in that position yet.
The numbers for coronavirus are rising by at least 10 per day in Derby now and I expect that'll snowball. :(
I've wondered about ordering non essentials online, everyday I get emails encouraging people to keep shopping. I feel for the pickers/packers/deliverers but it's keeping them in work and the companies afloat and hopefully they won't go under. So, I've ordered a wall clock, I might as well watch the hours tick away until the world ends. Stay positive :)

well done for keeping Swiss industry going, Robinia.
I watched Contagion on TV last night. Very prophetic, people told to do social distancing and Kate Winslet telling a friend to stop touching his face. It was made about 10 years ago. The pandemic was much worse than the current one, though, with Gwyneth Paltrow dying horribly and having her head examined.

Another lovely day ,still chilly though.Supposed to get colder too.
Don't forget to put that clock forward tomorrow Robinia:)
Scooters ?
Well ,we don't have a car and I have nowhere to put a scooter. Plus I live in an urban area and wobbling along the pavements like Dick Emery isn't a good look so if I can't get anywhere under my own steam I get a taxi.Local buses run from outside the door to the seafront and I can use my stick to walk as far as the nearest seat and sit down while Mr S fetches the fish and chips. Horses for courses.
Now what shall I do today. I could sort out my make up ,polish my tiaras or tidy my knicker draw but I think I'll watch Elementary on Netflix instead,it's hilarious:)
