does anyone know where I can buy maple sugar, cream and butter from a uk mail order company? I know I can get it straight from Canada and the US but the p and p and customs make this very expensive.

Haha Neti.
At least Mr N only has a notebook. It's when he starts making spreadsheets you have to worry:)
Nice day here so far.
I watched that film Secret Love last night.Very good and a bit of a tear jerker. All those years together in spite of everything.Wonderful brave women.
Hope you're all OK.

I'll look for that Neti.I'm watching Carlo & Malik atm. It's an Italian crime series ,with subtitles of course.Quite good, not gory ,a good back story running through it.
I've cracked Media Player at last.I searched around the internet and found some tip about updating the drivers which I did and hey presto it works.I set it to rip automatically and have now put several CD's on there and I can watch all the little videos with sound which we made years ago with Shaney on them.
Nice sunny day again. Hope you're all OK.

Hello jno I didnt realise oh was in hospital now. Good luck.
Wow shaney I am impressed. The mere mention of drivers on a computer is enough to send me into a blind panic!
My poor sis. She is 78 today and has been told that when her big facial scab fell off there there is a carcinoma underneath. She now has to stay indoors for 2 weeks to ensure she is covid free before she goes to hospital to have it removed! Ahe still feels rather rough!

Poor sis also has blood in her urine so is being g tested for that. she is completely run down as she runs around after everyone sorting out their problems and money!! It was bound to happen.
At the begin I g of covid Mtr D bought a 5kg bag of.plain flour( no other choice) which is why we had homemade bread and cakes, non stop cakes!
The summer has started here it is incredibly hot , hotter than seem to remember but that doesnt mean a thing. I am almost self isolating. Too many tourists who havent been tested here now! But we are going to Tesco tomorrow but that is hardly ever crowded! Weve been wearing masks when leaving the house since March 14th. Its unbearable in the heat and my runny nose runs more than ever!! Hate it!! We can print off a form which excuses us but I'm not risking catching anything. Not even meeting my gbf for coffee as he has a visitor and who knows where they have been recently!!

Your poor sister is the wars Neti. I hope she soon gets sorted.
Overcast here today until late afternoon when the sun finally broke through.Very muggy.
The chippie is open at last and doing home delivery.I was so excited and ordered on line only to get a message that they were having difficulties in fulfilling the orders and would refund me as they had been swamped.I was really disappointed as hadn't got anything out of the freezer so had sarnies and soup.
We should have had been wearing face masks here much earlier Neti.Too late now really but I wish these anti face maskers would just button it and wear one and stop wittering on about their personal freedom to do as they like and *** everybody else. I know some can't wear them for certain health reasons but it must be preferable to an oxygen mask or ventilator over your face if you catch it. Rant over, time for bed.
Night all.

Hello everyone.
Yes shaney we are getting dissenters here too. Calling us sheeple but who cares much as I hate it I will wear one! We went onto the countryside just to get out of house for a coffee and anyone not wearing a mask was quickly evicted . We oniy had tou put on on from the car for 3 mts to the open air patio where we do not have to wear them.
Yesterday we went to Tesco again.
I love it
We got 2 half price curries which we are having tonight. I like it that we can buy English deodorants! I want to buy things just in case to store but mr N says we can always come back which I'm not used to yet!!
It's very hot here so we stay mainly at home and in the pool.. Saw battered cod in Tesco and will get that one day!
Hope you are all ok
No news from Robi? Hope she is not suffering!
Woofy are you and Rab surviving?
And hello jno hope all is ok with you and yours.

Spain is now almost in its second wave. Ibiza has been well protected and only one new case last Saturday. Hija will probably have to come back home again as Barcelona is practically on a new lockdown. Gawd help us!! Tourists are pouring in and I really dont agree with it, but we dont rely on wages so we are things differently to the poor people with families who need to work . The gov has been paying monies and rents but how long can this last??
That's a lovely colour Neti.
My short bob is now a long bob and on my shoulders.
I was reading on the news earlier that cases are rising in some countries in Europe.
It's the same here with tourists. God knows where they come from but local businesses and people need the income that tourists bring although on last nights local news it looked pretty quiet in GY compared to the same day last year when it was the hottest day ever and it was heaving.
Everything is between a rock and a hard place atm.
Hope all of you and yours are are all ok though.KBO folks.

early morning trip to Waitrose today as I didn't realise they'd changed senior citizen ours to just Mon Wed and Fri, but not too many people there and I found all we need. OH is in purdah so can't do it - several days of shielding and only eating and drinking clear things, then a day of fasting, and the oscopy on Tuesday.
Shenay, we just watched a programme by Richard E Grant on Impressionists and the South of France - years old but I hadn't seen it before, and it was really interesting, all about how people like Monet struggled to adapt their dappled colours from the north to the bright sun, and how pointillists found it suited their style.
Apart from that, the usual quiet life indoors as it's been a bit drizzly.

I saw that somewhere Jno.Probably in the Radio Times. Painting in Paradise I think.I knew it was a repeat but couldn't remember if I'd watched it before.
Was it on BBC4? I'll have to have a look on IPlayer .Thanks for the heads up.Did you see Art of Persia with Samira Ahmed? That was good.
That's awful for your OH .Been there with Mr S and this is a man who likes his food.By the time he went for the op he was very grumpy. Not long to go now though and I hope it all goes well.
Been raining here this evening and the air feels much fresher.
I've spent the evening doing a jigsaw of Rothenburg ob der Tauber a place we visited many moons ago. I've done the edges and sky and a bit of the bottom half but it's straining my eyes now so I'm going to bed.
Night all.Sleep tight.

Yes, I saw Samira Ahmed - fascinating, I thought. I had a couple of weeks there sometime last century and it was such a beautiful place, I'd love to see it again. I brought home a lot of Persian miniature paintings to give everyone for Christmas - I think they cost about £2 each.
I think Painting in Paradise is in two parts, so more this week. It was on BBC4. Proper perceptive script with experts who didn't say "incredible" in every second sentence.
I remember Rothenburg from a coach trip once - I left the restaurant after lunch to take some photos and completely forgot to pay the bill. A nice American on the coach paid it for me. You shouldn't really be having senior moments like that in your 40s.

Hello. It's very very hot here. We are just sitting indoors and popping into the pool and back again
I've tried 12 times to renew my passport and each time they have rejected my photos. I think they are doing it deliberately as they are overrun. They do say not to.apply unless its urgent but mine runs out in 10 weeks and it takes quite a while to process these days and I cannot live abroad without a valid passport. Really fed up. Maybe they just dont like my lilac hair!!

neti there are online services who guarantee that your passport photo will be accepted. You upload your pic, pay about 4 quid and they either tell you to do another one because xyz or they tweak yours to be acceptable. They then send you a link to download and print photos or send digitally and also some printed photos. They were very good and they subtly "improved" my pic. I think its quite a flattering one of me.
