We have water going down the back of the sink and it's running down the wall behind into the cupboard below .This is very complicated :)
The sink is only a gap of about an inch and half from the tiled splashback and has been set into a beechwood worktop .Over time this has started to go all grotty ,the grout is all nasty and any water that gets spashed around is running down the back of it and under the lip of the sink into the cupboard .
This usually only happens when Mr S is doing any washing up .I've tested it with a glass of water :)
My son is going to fit a new sink and worktop for us ....but ..
he's full of good intentions but we may have to wait a while ....
In the meantime is there some sort of waterproof tape that I can buy to shore up this gap pro tem.

Morning all...sunny and breezy, showers forecast for this afternoon...yeh, right.

My nephew had gone home again yesterday so hopefully he'll be ok. Hope it hasn't knocked his confidence.

Lovely pics shaney, I'm amazed how they coped in those cottages. Eleven of them?! I've found a pic of how it was, very pretty but if you reached out to clip one of your kids they'd all fall like dominoes, haha...

I can't compete with the beautiful swans but here's Stubby getting breakast for his family...he must have had at least nine this year, and looked so bedraggled and weary a few weeks ago I thought he might expire. I think he's ready for a holiday in Norfolk...

oh, Robinia, how awful for your nephew, I do hope he's okay.

Lovely pictures, Shaney. It looks like a nice day here but instead of goigg for a cruise I am having lunch with Sis. In fact the only bad day on the horizon is Saturday, when there will be T-storms and is of course the day we're going to a garden party. But forecasts have been known to err.

Lol..he's very sweet Robinia .Pleased to hear your nephew is alright .
I hope they get the swines who assaulted him.

Yes I saw that picture in an album there yesterday .Apparently after the last marshman left the cottage the people in How Hill House took the cottage over and made it into a place for their children to play in .The children named it Toad Hole .
This is the big house

Little bit of history of the area if it's of interest .It's a lovely place .Amazing wildlife .Saw loads of dragonflies, butterflies ,beautiful swathes of lilypads and wildflowers and the boatman was very informative .I never knew meadowsweet smelled like Germolene :)
There were only five of us on the boat which only holds six anyway. The young couple who shared with us were really nice and friendly .

ah, the big house, that's more like what I'd have with my nine children. And I'd have the seventh son put out for training to be a thatcher.
Phew, it's humid...had a bit of something to do in the garden before it all gets wet 'n soggy and now I'm krackered. I was followed around by the site manager (aka robin), everything I moved had to be closely inspected :) It's lovely to find I've still got newts!

Beautiful house shaney...don't think neti would like all the spiders in that thatch.
The tarquins are moving at the weekend to a house big enough to have nine children.... oh please don't ...it's the one I went to view with them earlier this year. I'll have to leave a trail of toast crumbs when I visit so I can find my way out again.
Morning all or whatever!

Lovely piccies shaney, I'd love a little cottage but yes the thatch would worry me, the picture of the kitchen is just like this one was like when I got here, it has been updated since! I just love cosy small places, although this villa is too small for the three of us at the moment, tripping over each other!!

I've got a job to do in the garden but am waiting until later this evening when it's cooler .Wheelie bin cleaning !! We pour any old cooking fat/oil etc into a jar and then put it in the bin .Mr S obviously didn't screw the jar down properly when he threw the last lot and after the bin was emptied it's still all in the bottom of the bin .I don't know how many times I've told him to wrap it in newspaper and put it into a plastic bag ...tut.
Question Author
Oh yes ..good luck to the Tarquins with their move .Hope they'll be happy in their new home .
Neti ..this was extremely small, .Downstairs was just that one room and the pantry with a very tiny room at the side in which I could touch the walls either side with my arms stretched and upstairs was one room with a tiny room off it and that was it ! The stairs were so narrow .I only made it half way up just to have a peep .
Ah yes shaney just a tad too small for my liking!

Trying again. This is one of my favourites.....
Hello all. Live your birds RobiAnd the swans Shaney. Cheeky blackbirds and elegant swans! I've not had any for ages. I don't know why but they're just not eating anything I put out. My garden needs some rain! I water all my pots and a few plants in the garden but the rest ....grass and bushes need a good soak.
Enjoy your day Jno. Saturday is my sis day but not this Saturday as I'm off South to celebrate a birthday with my Friend and family. We'll be a the Mad Stad watching a friendly football match. My first of the season. It's not The Rams and I'm being called turncoat by some friends - not true. Just going for the fun of it!
Hope Tarquin's move goes well Robi.
I'm off now to do some ironing now so I'll see yer later! Hope you're all having a good day. I'm just creaking! After yesterday's walk (climb) but it will ease off if I keep on the move. I even walked to the hairdressers this morning. That'll make Robi laugh as it's only 5 minutes down the road!
love! one of many mistakes I expect!

That's lovely Jude .You're very much alike to look at you know.
Have a nice time darn sarf .
ITS POURING DOWN YIPPEE!!!!!!

Thanks Shaney. He did have one lesson from me! And he still can't read music but knows all the chords etc.
Didn't think he looked much like me more his Dad but I suppose he must have something similar to me.
I love that photo. It was about 1974. Steady's Dad died 9 years ago last Tuesday and his twin is being treated for the same illness now as I think I said. So sad.

Off again to really make a start on the ironing instead of reminiscing.
not surprised you need ironing after all that, Jude, I'd be pretty rumpled too. In fact I am, as I have arrived home to find the freezer has froze - I suspect the door didn't shut properly last time, so I have scraped out what I can and left the fan heater blowing up a storm into it to melt the rest
