A friend (who has been a veg grower for years) has had a crop of potatoes that are semi-transparent & too hard to eat after cooking whether boiled or slow roasted.
Any ideas as to what the reason might be? he doesn't remember the variety name, they weren't his usual choice. Thanks.

Just passin thu before I stagger my way up the wooden hill...camel toe, haha I forgot to comment on that, yes, it's heard (too) often on the tele.

I love Bette Midler, I'd love to meet her. I saw SJParker interviewed not so long ago & she was really nice.

Lovely to see you stop by shaney, as Kit says, this time tomorrow....My demanding neighbour had a similar tummy op a fortnight ago, she's 80 & doing fine...well her hip's in & out like the hokey cokey but it's giving her something extra to talk about.

Not watched the David T thing Jude 'cos Suranne Jones is in it I think & I don't like her.

oh woofy's got a pic. Shame you didn't sit outside, it was lovely here if a bit breezy. I don't know what the dream was all about but I'm always worried about something. Hey ho, I'll try hard to have sweeter dreams tonight.
What is it with these idiots and their fireworks in the middle of the night?
Yes, pic courtesy of Kit....just managed to focus enough last night to register at gravatar without messing up. DH has just texted me good morning so i am sitting here having a good think about Mr S and Shaney then off for kip. Couldn't face the David T thing, I very rarely do sad for entertainment.
Cold morning here and windy but dry. I had gloves and hat on today as well as coat.
I dream a lot about tortoises and about going back to school or college. I am the age I am now and have been allowed to go back and do my training or A levels again...but i keep getting lost....I guess that's a pretty good reflection of life currently....loads to learn and a maze to run to learn it....just call me queen of the lab rats lol. not sure where the tortoises come in except that in one of his books, Terry Pratchett says that tortoises can remember everywhere they have ever been and, if they wanted to could just redo the whole journey over backwards.
Thinking of shaney and mr s today xx
Hello,

Father Christmas arrived this morning with parcels from M&S and Cotton Traders. I now have four new pairs of trousers that fit reasonably well. (I can never get anything that fits perfectly - usually trousers are shaped for women with big hips and thighs and small waists. Size 16 fit my waist and then the rest look like jodpurs!! Anyway the'll have to do. Got a nice light weight fleece from cotton traders (£8.00) Nice and long, Robinia - have a look on line in the sale or clearance. They are really good. AND and freebie fleece from Cotton Traders which is a bit big but very long and really warm - £30 in the catalogue. Pale Mauve is not really my favourite colour, but it was free.

That's the good news.

The bad news is. I have lost absolutely everything from my computer settings. Nothing there at all. I am on Vik's settings which are still there!! All my photos have gone! I hope my whiz kid son can do something.

Dog is not well. Didn't eat yesterday and very tired. However, the very tired might be the two long walks she went on with Mr LL. She isn't a 'foodie' and occasionally does miss a day (she has IBS). Will try her on fish and rice tonight. If no improvement it will be the vet tomorrow.

Thinking of Mr S. and Shaney today. xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
PS Love Bette Midler Neti. Lovely voice and lovely person.

Sorry Robi, but I really like Suranne Jones and think she's now developed ino a great actress. I really enjoyed the drama last night and loved the music too. Made me very weepy though. Even Mr LL enjoyed it - strange because things like that are not his cup of tea usually.

Woofie, I have the school dreams too - exactly like that. I am the age I am now and back in school and as anxious as ever about everything.
Lovely day here yesterday. Sunny and warm. Sun now coming out again. Man coming with new dishwasher (thank God) and friend coming to lunch.

See you later.
Morning lottie, yes I am that shape for trousers too, I find men's fit me better as I do not have women shaped hips either.

For computer, try System Restore and it should take you back to an earlier date when everything was there!
Off to scholl in a bit. Just called in to say my thoughts are with Shaney and Mr S.xx

Bye for now.

Morning/a'noon biddy bums (I've not got much of one either, quel surprise)...bit fresh here too but sunny & the washing is a-flappin' nicely.

'..allowed to go ack to school' woofy? I have dreams about having to go back & I hate it. I'm not sure I actually hated it when I was there, there didn't seem to be much choice, haha, but I know it was one massive worry most of the time.

Thanks Lottie, another site to keep me on the computer! :o) I'll have a look in a while...how are Cotton T's sizes? Generous or skimpy? And do any of you buy from Damart? What's their sizing like?... My sister's crashed into biddydom & has announced she wants some wincy pj's (!). There are some nice ones in a damart supplement that plopped out of my tv mag but they're not in stock online. Maybe they will be soon.

Hope you sort your puta & that little doggy gets better without a vet. Give her a gentle massage if she'll let you. Oddly since I did it to Charlie he hasn't hobbled.

Jude you said you're off to 'scholl' :o)
Hi all, in a bit of a hurry, just wanted to say that Mr S and you Shaney have been in my mind today and still are - I carry you with me today. /Back tonightish.
Well, Henry has just had a proper job and cleaned everywhere thoroughly, except that the cork I keep under my pillow (supposedly for night cramps) had fallen under the bed and good old H sucked it up and bingo, it was then stuck in his tube fast! I tried a corkscrew but just kept wobbling so in the end I had to stab it with two knives, and released it. Anyway all feels clean now. Horrendous storms the last couple of days, but I launder regardless and to Mr N's horror it's hanging on makeshift lines in front of the house, so he's gorn out! The trials of a modern day housewife. I can only use the drier when the washing is at least half dry unless it's an emergency! Have just had one urgent load!!!!
cotton traders tees are fine, I sleep in them, BUT as you wash them they get shorter, not much narrower but deffo shorter. If its cotton wincey i'd go up a size as i bet they aren't pre shrunk.
Lovely jammies here, the cotton ones don't shrink and dead snuggly but a bit dearer than damart IIRC

Hi All

Gotcha Robi - I missed that. Crip keyboard skills. Even though I was a typist many moons ago.

<cork under the pillow...tumbling sprouts...they're all barking mad in 'ere>

Thanks woofy, I'd forgotten how much wincy shrinks...Now somehow I managed to drift from Cotton Traders into River Island where I'm now stuck & filling up my basket with things that are probably too young for me, hehe. Lovely couple of handbags. I want some straight leg jeans & some slouchy boots...a navy coat...a parka...click, click...

Some late summer colour today, not very sharp tho', my battery went flat after I'd taken this....

He's home! My DDDH is home!!!! More tomorrow :-)))))
I bought two pair of straight leg jeans in M&S, and a size 12! Gr8!! Got some lovely boots in Shoe zone for £25, then when I got home, found that I'd already bought an almost identical pair here!! love slouch boots.

Winter appears to be almost here, raining yet again, so I have roasted a chicken with lully roasted pots. I tried parboiling them first and sprinkling them with flour, they were delicious. Daughter thought I had cooked them in goose grease (she watches too much Come Dine with Me!) But I still don't think chicken has much taste, and I do buy the free range corn-fed ones. We are all fighting for the telly now that daughter is here for winter and discos have closed) I actually don't want to ewatch it but I want Mr N to watch it cos then I can watch downloaded tv in my room!

Have beeb warching Downtown Abbey, and it's great, I really love these period dramas, only trouble is I can only watch it on the computer cos it's HD as it won't go on a disc! The father looks just like my eldest bro when he was a few years younger.
Oh woofy sorry I was so full of my own importance that I didn't see you there!

WELL DONE DH! Now take it easy, no rushing orf on the jolly old bike! Now you can relax a bit woofy and enjoy having him home. <<<<Hugs to the both of you>>>> you deserve so much more! x

Still thinking of you shaney and mr s and keeping my fingers crossed, love and kisses to you both x
