smelly carpet shampooer

I have a bissell carpet shampooer which is absolutely the bees knees. It is easy to use and really gets my filthy dog-defiled carpets clean again. The only trouble is that while I do clean it after use and let it dry in the air before putting it away, it is beginning to smell, I guess because some dirty water is always left inside it somewhere. has anyone else had this problem and found a solution to it please?
TIA

I am washed and changed, we are reasonably tidy and the boys are asleep.
Sis is back from America with an American cold. She gets them from the aircon. She offered to come here early (she is coming in June) but I told her no I am fine.
thanks for the twitter advice. House is in darkness as the fuse has blown for the third time in a row (just the lights, everything else seems okay), so this is one for Imran the electrician.
Just off to bed. We decided to stay and see the final show as well. Loved it.

That's supposed to be a torch
good morning all...lovely one it is too. is it tempting fate to wash my warm padded parka and put it away?

Great Antie neti...hope you smell of mothballs and lavender :o). I remember two of my great aunts, they always seemed HUGE and austere.

Pleased you're returning to normal woofy...and that's a lovely visitor jno. We had just one last year. :o(
ah, maybe he's doing the rounds of biddies, Robinia. It's not as dark as it was at night but I must call Imran. Not urgent (standard lamps etc still work), but I don't have the knowledge or equipment to find if a single item somewhere is malfuctioning.

Actually, it just got darker... where did the sun go?

If you have the trippy kind of fuse box with switches, you just turn everything off then turn one thing on at a time till it trips but it's a pain in the bum. If your fuses are the old kind with wire in, don't bother.
I am about to attempt to shower......
<holds nose>

do - id's de od kide wid wires
Hello all
Not a bad day here .Mainly sunny with bits of cloudy but at least it isn't raining for a change .Hope you are all OK and hope you're not still fumbling about in the dark Jno .
Lol..I'm a great great Aunt several times over .I think I've been mothballed full stop. When my nephew introduced me to his new partner recently he said to her "This is my ancient Aunt J ." Cheeky monkey :)
I'd better move myself as Picky will be here shortly for his roast beef .Be good ,see you later .

I tell you what, clean feels wonderful. How did we manage before? Until I was 12 we lived in a house with one sink in the kitchen, only running cold water, loo at the end of the garden and a tin bath that was used once a week by all the family in front of the kitchen fire. The house I live in now has two baths, a shower and three toilets!!!!!!!!!!
My cheeky nephew who is a policeman, calls me "aunty" in his FB posts...actually I quite like it. Its his sister who has the kids, my great nieces.
Woofy I was eighteen when I first had a bath in a proper bath where hot water actually came out of the taps and we had a toilet that was indoors .I can remember my Mum saying how luxurious it felt .
My sons think it's amusing to call me 'Ma' :o) My nephew just calls me by my name, he's a 'cool dude with lots of tatts', thin as a rake and laughs a lot at my jokes...sensible young man :o)
My son calls me 'mother', but not in a posh way. He started doing that in his teens for some reason. If he is referring to me when talking to someone else he says 'Mum'. He tends to call his Dad 'father' too. It is said in a sort of endearing way - can't explain it.

Well I bought a new mobile which I think is meant for children, came home and had the same problem. Man in carphone warehouse told me my sim cadr was fine , but in fact the problem is the sim card so Orange are sending me new sim card. Meanwhile I have two phones that I can't use.
(The instruction leaflet for the new one shows children using the phone and the instructions are very simple - but not for me!!)

Then my computer connection internet wouldn't work, so no internet. With the help of son it is now OK again for the time being., but something is failing and he needs to get a new one - don't ask me what!

Have been gardening in this lovely weather and am now going back outside.

Meggie isn't well again and not eating :o(

gentle hug for Meggie. They just do worry us don't they? Rab is now allowed off lead around the house provided he stays near me and on a flexi lead in the garden. I gave him yoghurt for lunch to try and sort his tum out before we all collapse with gas poisoning.
oh I get mother too, usually when I've made some unmotherly(in their opinion) comment. 'Motherrrr' :o)
I hope meggie's ok.

Just going to have my dinner/tea/whatever...pie, chips and peas. not very Sundayish but it's easy and all I fancy.
Question Author
we have slow cooker turkey stew for dinner. I made it yesterday but we didn't fancy it. Its also better the next day.
We are having curry take away tonight, yum. Big (who is extremely small) sis is off to see and to say goodbye to her twin bro in Perth Oz tomorrow, so we have been buying gifts etc. Middle sis and I are going to the airport with her to make sure she doesn't lose anything!

Am shattered from singing and dancing and whistling and chatting up the young singers in general. Got a couple of photos with them!
