It's not too hot, not too cold, not too breeze and not too damp. It's perfect.

But........I have hurt my knee and can't kneel down. How am I going to tackle the pesky weeds? Please don't suggest weedkiller.

I would state the obvious and just bend down. It is the way I do most of my weeding as seldom kneel as get a sore knee that way.

Bending down, for extended periods of time, makes you go dizzy.
What's wrong with weed killer?
I love the stuff
Sorry if that happens to you - bending down for a reasonable period of time does not have that affect on me so that is why I suggested it. I can see no other alternative unless you can uproot weeds using a long handled fork or hoe.
Don't you have a hoe Tilly?
Perfect here, Tilly.....I find a skateboard useful if I can't kneel or bend...just sit on it sidesaddle and whizz about.....☺

I do have a hoe, LB, but I don't like to just leave the weeds there. I need to pick them all up and hoes don't work on those horrid long rooted things. You have to get down to them and dig them out.

Gness, a skateboard sounds ideal. I often find myself sitting on my kneeling pad and hooching it along the edge of the borders. Now, who do I know with a spare skateboard?

Anyway, I have ignored the weeds and tackled a shrub that has got too big for its boots. I am not covered in tiny bits of sharp, itchy things. How do they get where they get?
Could you just use a hoe Tilly? At least that way you can uproot the pesky things to stop them getting any bigger.
Oops, should have read more of the posts. Me and my big mouth again!

I'll try the hoe tomorrow, maggie. Maybe my knee will have improved by then.
heven't you got a little stool ?
I remember seeing an advert somewhere for a thing for making gardening easier.
One way up its a padded kneeler with a handle each side to help you get back up on you feet.
Or if you prefer you can turn it up the other way and sit on it like a bench.
If my memory serves me well the add was from Coopers of Stortford.

I have one of those, Chip. It has a lid on the top for storing things. I tend to sit on it when I'm weeding and I turn it over to kneel on it when I need to get serious with a dandelion.

I just can't kneel at the moment. It might be a line dance, badminton or zumba injury.
Gardening? Don't do that, pebbles!
