Let's see what the care home boss offers and we'll take it from there.  You have to convince them you can work better and not be under pressure

8-4 and 7-3 are full time. I was enjoying warehouse just thought manager was a bully

Here's hoping you find a job with the hours you want, doing work that you enjoy  - and that pays reasonably well.

Question Author

Hopefully I've applied for few Housekeeping jobs

Good luck with those, Abbey. And now that you've had the experience of your present care home, you'll be clued up on what the work involves - and should be able to do it full-time, fingers crossed.

And a hospital

Question Author

Well I'm left with 2 options

Abbey, what are the two options?

Question Author

Well was if my boss has hours even though they have advertised for a new housekeeper or get a new full time job

Abbey, I'm sorry but I don't understand the first half of your reply! Option 2  seems to be : Get a new full-time job, but your Option 1 'Was if my boss has hours even though they have advertised for a new housekeeper'   ???

Question Author

I spoke to my boss she says she hasn't got any more hours going but see they advertised for a housekeeper on the job site

Question Author

If they don't looks like have to get a full time job elsewhere

then it's fairly clear they want a housekeeper that's not you.

sounds like when they get someone you'll be out, therefore put all your efforts into the pther job

A hosekeeper will have more responsibility than a cleaner, and may in fact manage the cleaners.

Have you thought about a seasonal job eg. Argos, Tesco etc.

Question Author

Well hopefully it works out as they're new housekeepers have either lasted a day or not turn up.

Abbey. looking for a new job seems to be the only decent option.

PS I think 'housekeeping' is the slightly euphemistic term for 'cleaning' - no-one from 'Cleaning' has ever knocked on my hotel doors, but I've had 'housekeeping' lots of times!

Question Author

I also think some of them in HB are clicky

Abbey, I think you'll have to accept that the care home don't feel as optimistic as you about you doing 30 hours!

I think you were quite set against HB from the induction day and things went downhill from there. I'm sure loads of people hate their first week in a new job, but sometimes you have to give things a decent chance.

Well we called housekeepers

Question Author

I've only felt like this once

duties of a housekeeper / cleaner :

• Cleaning and arranging residents’ rooms and making beds

• Washing dirty bedding, clothing etc

• Stocking and maintaining an inventory of housekeeping supplies

• Dusting and polishing furniture or fixtures

• Scrubbing and sanitising showers, bathtubs, toilets, countertops and sinks

• Vacuuming and cleaning carpets, doormats and rugs

• Reporting breakages, damages and safety issues for repairs

• Assist with serving meals and drinks to residents

• Work alongside the catering team to clean kitchen and equipment
