Before after my 2 week trial on the till they said they would give me my new contract I don't why they haven't unless because someone came back or after my probation. I'm also having trouble with a supervisor I don't think she likes me but she brought there have been issues with me scanning items wrong and they loosing stock. I don't feel respected.

That doesn't matter.  Think of commuters who travel many miles every day to get to their jobs.  They just do it because that's what they need to do.  My husband's office is 80 miles away.  Don't put obstacles in the way.  Just get up  a bit earlier and leave home a bit earlier.

presumably one of the cons is that you dont appear from what you say to be very good at operating a till?

I think abbey got the hang of that.

really?  i wonder if we are reading the same posts from abbey.i thought she'd said they were giving her cleaning to do because she couldnt be trusted on a till by herself without a supervisor.  In fact this very question mentions her scanning items wrongly

Question Author

They've got me on till shift in a couple of weeks.

Abbey, good luck with the interview.

Are you on cleaning duties only  for the next few weeks?

Bednobs, I read that abbey needed to learn about the products.  I can't remember her saying she couldn't use the till, but wherever she goes she'll get training anyway so that shouldn't be an issue.

Yes but got one full day in next weeks

Abbey, how confident are you about managing all the duties and responsibilities listed?

in my opinion only (you clearly know yourself better) that list seems way beyond your capabilities

To be fair I also remember, like bednobs, in one of her previous jobs (somewhere like B&M or Wilko) she wasn't up to par for handling till work, card payments etc and was taken off it.. It was a few months ago. There is absolutely no point in encouraging abbey to go for jobs she's not capable of, it will just cause more stress and worry and another job change.

Question Author

I didn't go on till in b&m also I haven't been completely taken off as got a till shift in few weeks. I haven't done all of it so not sure.

It will, however, generate traffic to this site which is the endgame.

RETIRE

Good afternoon,

Abbey, do you think you are capable of doing that job?

It appears in the last 2 years every single one of your employers have had issues with your work ethic.

The new job description seems to be very specific in the responsibilities you will required to conform to. Given that all your recent employers have found it necessary to remove you from front line work to cleaning do you honestly think you will be able to fulfill the requirements

in all honesty, even the cleaning seems beyond your capabilities (you were taken off cleaning rooms to cleaning 1 staircase), and kept getting laundry wrong (all from your own reports)

you might need to lower your sights, or be doomed to this cycle

You've nothing to lose if you get the job as your present job is only 8 hours a week, so give it a go; but be prepared to find it challenging for a while and work extra hard,  be extremely helpful and flexible and aim to impress to make sure you get through the probation.  Save as much money as possible while working 40 hours in case it goes the same way as your recent jobs- which it could well do.

But of course there may be lots of applicants who have had more success in these types of roles.

I think you probably are better suited to packing or other non-customer-facing  warehouse roles, so keep an eye open for any vacancies in those areas.
