Do the right thing and go to the police station and explain to them what you have just explained to us. One of several things will happen, you'll either be believed in which case your partner will have to return to court to be freed if they drop it, or they won't believe you and will carry on with it, in which case an innocent man will spend possibly months in prison before potentially being found guilty of a crime he didn't commit. In any event it is the only thing you can do and if you do it at the earliest opportunity it will go better for you if you are charged with wasting police time, so do the right thing.
Could you say that you have changed your mind about your allegations as you dont want to pursue it further, just want to get on with your life and forget all about it? i dont know if they would accept this though. Sometimes people drop their statements as they are being threatened or pressured too. We all do things we regret when feeling betrayed and it can seem so extreme later on down the line.
So what are you going to do then Kimmy? Just keep quiet and let your boyfriend go to jail (or at least have the assault on his record for the rest of his life) when you know he's innocent? That would be awful.
The longer you leave the matter the worse it will get, for you and him. Just imagine how he's feeling at the moment knowing he didn't touch you?

Hi kimmy11, we have all done things in our lives that we shouldn't have done. However, YOU have a chance to put things right. Go back to the police and tell them that you wish you retract your statement. It doesn't matter what the outcome is, - take it!
It would be very unfair for your partner to be punished for something he has not done.

The alternative though Searchlight is to do nothing and stick with the allegation. Not only would that be terrible for Kimmy's boyfriend (I'm presuming it's her boyfriend and not a business partner) but if and when the truth emerges things would be even worse for Kimmy. She seems to be in a corner and the best thing to do would be to get it straightened out as soon as possible. Perhaps there will be consequences but the will be minimised the sooner she goes along to see the police.
Maybe do as Nextqueen says Kimmy and tell the police you have changed your mind and don't now wish to press charges.

I'm sure I've read on here about other cases where the victim wants to withdraw their statement in cases of domestic assault (for whatever reason), and I seem to remember reading that it's the CPS that decide as due to the nature of the crime, lots of victims withdraw their statements through fear etc... So while I would say obviously tell the truth, I'm not entirely sure just you withdrawing the statement is enough. I'm sure some legal bod will be about to advise further.

Aww, come on ...
So you did something a bit rash in the heat of the moment.
It was stupid, but ... well, we all do things we regret from time to time.
The important thing is ... your partner is innocent. If you don't retract you r statement, you will eventually have to give evidence on oath, at his Court hearing.
You have to just do the decent thing ...
Bite the bullet, go to the Police straight away, tell them you were stupid, and you are sorry, and tell them the truth, and take your punishment on the chin.
The Police will probably be so busy they will be glad to get one case off their books, and they'll send you away with a caution.

I'm fairly new here can someone explain why my last answer was removed?
Come on jayne, this is a brutal "punishment", prostituting the law because the guy texted someone.
"yea I cut her head off for burning my dinner but I regrett it now"!
The poor guy is in the slammer, gawd knows how this will effect his future, even if kimmy comes clean.
