James is pulling Louis Smith's leg and he is bravely trying some fairly strange new (for him) foods. Poor soul even got food hell (squid) instead of food heaven (chicken) and then James showed him the beautifully cooked chicken and whisked it away again and made him eat the squid. What a nice young man!

Sister just phoned. Her oldest friend 77 committed suicide yesterday. Shes quite shaken as she was always running around for her. Apparently she stockpiled morphine and painkillers. The nursing home is under investigation. Quite sad really. Casualty tonight.

oh, that's a shock, neti. And yet when I get to a nursing home I'm not sure I'd want them raiding my room and confiscating any pills I had lying around for whatever reason.

If its the UK they can’t. A nursing home can take control of meds if its supervised by a qualified nurse and there is a good, but an ordinary rest home is like your own home and you have the same rights to privacy and decision making as you would if you lived in your own house.

Oh blasted ipad “good reason to do so” My laptop battery has died and it needs to go to be looked at and hopefully replaced under guarantee. I am getting withdrawal symptoms.

Good morning. No it was a private nursing home. She was paying £1,230 a week! Think she was worried about when and if her money ran out.
Cold and damp here today. We are going to a nice restaurant for a change for lunch so we can dress up. Pity we wont have the posh SUV to arrive in, instead of Mr Ns white van, or my 16yr old Renault clio!
Shaney last ever series of The Americans starts on March 28th. I will record it for you! Surely they have to get caught.

What a dreadful shock for your sister Neti .Tragic when someone takes their own life.
Very cold here,but it's been nice and bright .Nothing much doing .Hope you're all ok.
Ooh not that long to wait then Neti . Yes I wonder if they'll be caught .Either that or they just disappear and live out the rest of their lives in obscurity somewhere in the US.I can't imagine the children wanting to go back to what was then communist Russia.

I cant seem to put a card on my tablet, but will keep trying.
It is freezing here today and wet. I wore absorbent Ugg boots and feet got so wet, as it wasnt raining when I left home!
Making lamb stew in slow cooker, smells good.
Cleaned log fire out, nice to bs clean again. We have been burning paperback books as we have so many and no one wants them. They make good logs!

Mr S bought me a lovely rose gold watch and bracelet and gave me a wodge of cash. I'm a very happy shaney. New coat here I come.Just need a new body to put in it.

well, that's some progress, got the car's MOT today, no trouble, and a man is coming round at sparrowfart to hack down the laburnums out front, which are getting a bit rotten in the roots and have started to lean out dangerously over the pavement since the storms. I will miss them, they were gorgeous for a couple of weeks in May, but laburnums don't live forever. Or is it laburna?

Thank you Jno ,that's a nice cake. We had lemon drizzle this afternoon with lots of cream and proper coffee. It's been a nice day.
Still freezing out there though.
I see my MP is now the Conservative party chairman. Tut. He's probably got the top job in his sights now .He's not not done much for us locals and I expect he'll be doing even less now.He never answers my letters:)

that was quick, half an hour and three trees reduced to sawdust. It would have taken me a month even with freshly sharpened scissors, but they had buzz saws and sawdust machines and leaf blowers and a big lorry.
