Did Kylie Minogue ever sing any songs from the Australian Police series "The Water Rats" and if so, what are they?

I couldn't let this go by (I'd have forgotten by morning)...did you all hear me squealing with laughter a while ago?... I flicked onto the shopping channel and look what came on, I couldn't believe it...

for blacked out biddies...wherever you are...

hahahaha.....
sorry woofy...I was too busy giggling to say hello....and g'nite
Oooh a mention in a song .That was lovely .Thanks Kit .
We've got an old trawler in the harbour at the moment .

Lovely old boat .My Dad would have loved to have seen her coming up the river again as he was a trawlerman before he went in the MN and after the war and sailed in that fleet . But the silver darlings are alas no more round here .I went to junior school with skippers grandaughter .
Nice to see you Woofy enjoy your tincture and hope you get a good night .
That's just what I need for the winter Robinia when the man of the house starts yelling .."put that light out ,it's like Blackpool Illuminations in here" ..as he waves the leccy bill under my nose :)
Well I've had my Dennis Waterman fix so am off to rest my weary leg . Still no sign of rain .
Nite all xx
Morning,

Well there was I thinking Swedie would never find a song on U tube about our local town - and low and behold I found this. Not only about our local town, but also about me (not).

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OEZttxsi91c

In fact this is about my birth town and will also bring very fond memories to our Shaney ;o)

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FZ2mJPSccvo

Please, please let it rain today.

G'day biddies - I think I'm overdoing things... just by not lying around on lit de parade anymore... thank god it's still summer - I couldn't get into a pair of socks on if you pointed a gun at me.

Oh Shaney I had no idea your dad was a trawlerman...! Have you told us? I was just thinking of the towns. So glad you liked it! And Lottie that Fakenham Fair had an Irish feel to it in my ears at least, how come? or am I mistaken? I googled it so I know that geographically I am, but... still...?

Few years back there was a commercial for a new car model that wasn't yet out but would be, shortly, and it ended with a voice saying PREPARE TO WANT ONE. We should re-do that commercial, for biddies, featuring Robinia's sweeper with headlights ha ha ha - "prepare to want one", can't you just see it now!

Think I've had my fill of Asperger's for this time Woofy but I'll add it to my short-list - which keeps getting longer. Aren't there so many books you always took for granted you'd be reading sooner or later but somehow you don't? I read much less now than when I was younger:(
Norfolk through and through Swedie. See here.

Quote from Bellowhead's website:

"FAIRFAKENHAM
Peter Bellamy learnt it from a Peter Bullen of Norwich, who learnt it from his grandfather.
There are, as far asthe bandknow, no other collected versions of the song so it seems likely it was unique to the Bullen family."

I have learned something today. Thanks Swedie. Where is everybody??
a'noon...

well if y'all want cool & wet come on over to Derby...we're all struggling to get our socks & galoshes on, it's bloomin chilly & piddling down...it's going to be in single figures tonight. :o/

...<wry smile at Vin's recent answer in suggs... ;o)

Hope you're all hobbling better...I don't know whether to have a hair cut or go fishing.....
As part of the ' Mad Over 50's Club' (see Eds. latest chat in Suggestions this afternoon), can I just say that there is firmly where I wish t o stick! The site has improved no end since the disappearance of you know who and his sycomphants are sulking like mad.

Quiet here today.

I have just been out for a long walk with the dog over the fields and feel really quite good. The weather forecast said that we should expect a heavy shower at about 7.00 pm! No sign so far - I am waiting.
Good evening.
a rye smile..is that like a ryvita type of smile...but with crunchy bits...:O) yep loftie....they arnt to happy are they...bloody good riddance to them. And good on Boo to.It pished down this morning and ended up a lovely day.Cant walk on the pavement yet till the crockles go home....I keep thinking there all taller than me..:O)
Evening all. I'll just think of Norfolk as Little Ireland then, Lottie... I know it doesn't make sense... but I grew up with Irish music and there was something about that tune... we'll blame my foreigner ears:)

Was planning to make a mung bean dal tonight but I forgot to put the beans to soak so that went down the drain. I tried once before just boiling them for a longer time and that seemed to work out well but cheeezus the pain... so I won't try that again. Made something called White Cabbage Indienne instead, not bad, especially considering I did it without my headlights on ha ha ha... I'm still avoiding the ladder, at least until I can turn over in bed without screaming 9 times out of 10...

I was gonna post Visit to Vienna with Sahara Hotnights in honour of our absent jno but they handled their guitars like four year olds so in order not to shame my country I'm hereby censoring that one and I give you their tokyo song instead.
Evening all
It rained here today for all of ten seconds ! Not really long enough to clear the grockles off the streets though .
As my son is home we've been busy all day sorting through more of my late Ma in laws stuff. Heaving boxes to and from the storage container ,looking through it and taking most of it back again :)

What a kerfuffle. .I'm glad to see the back of the gruesome twosome .Let 'em sulk . I got called a cokehead by one of them. Charming . Hope they disappear up their own pipes and take the silly women who hang on their every word like groupies round an ageing pop star with them .

Yes Kit my Dad was born in 1904 and went to sea when he was 14 starting on the drifters until he did his National Service and spent his whole at sea, trawling ,MN and various other seagoing duties until the fishing finished in the late fifties . All his brothers went to sea too.One of my uncles was in Trinity House ,they man the lightships .
I'll post a picture for you if I can find it of when he was a young man on the drifters .
Here you are Kit my Dad is the lad leaning on that spar thing at the back first right ,flat cap and light shirt .

Aww Shaney he looks most terribly young and hopeful and sweet...! Thank you for showing us; I'm saving it.
...and guess where he went to, in the My Pictures folder? In between your blackbird and your beach (both of which you've posted earlier).
morning...
I've just had a quick scan throught the posts...can't concentrate very well yet, I'm suffering the fall out from a 10hr migraine...bl00dy stupid weather's most likey to blame. Windy, cloudburst & thunder yesterday afternoon...you're all welcome to it.
lovely story of your dad shaney, I'll come back & study it properly later.

Lottie...the 'Mad over 50's' is a clan that gathers every Sat night in Q&P...you're not in that are you?
like this

Oops Robbie, and I thought it was L's no.1 fanclub being rude about us oldies. Never mind eh!!

No rain again yesterday, only sunshine, and it's bright sunshine again today. Should be grateful I suppose, but my garden looks very sad!!

x
Oh I daresay Lottie, that there've been plenty of nasty comments about us too...wish I'd been around yesterday
Q - "is all of AB destined to be like the mad over 50's club?".... A. no, it was destined to be a sleaze pit full of tackiness & over-inflated egos whose biggest problems were whether their batteries would last the bl00dy night"....jeez . It's carry on humour he [Ed] informed me...wonder if he's watched any?
I think I'd better keep away until my mood has improved, haha....<whispers>...don't tell the Met office but the sun's shining.

Hi all, humid grey day here again and dear doggie has been sick comprehensively on the clean carpet :( he is now begging for food which i won't give him until tonight, he may not mind bringing it back again but i do!!
MiL on the mend which is exceellent news...looking forward to normal life again soon.
PS I don't think dear doggie is unwell (touching wood) but I gave him tuna on his breakfast, which he has had before but it looks like he can't digest it atm
G'day biddies, I'm beginning to wonder what happened while I wasn't on - about the bannings? Robi you mentioned a list of IP numbers or something to that effect that had been appearing on the site... or something... to that effect... what was that all about, was it like an official announcement that "these numbers are banned", or what?

With my broadband provider, if I leave the puta turned off for a number of days I get a new IP address when I turn it on again, I learned that when I/my computer was being accused of attacking other computers and I received a threatening letter from the provider and I (my IP address) was apparently put on some kind of half-ban where I could access the internet as such but I thought there was something wrong with almost every site I was on 'cos things didn't work. It was only when I contacted the provider on another matter that they told me I'd been on this half-ban for quite a while and "have you not been informed?" Noooo, I had not! But anyway it coincided with me going away for a few days and when I got home the problem was solved simply because I had been away and in my absence the puta had been thinking that maybe it should get itself another IP number. Long story, my point being that I wonder how successful these bannings will turn out to be.

Woo-hoo, Singing In The Rain on the telly this afternoon!
