Is her choice of words reasonable , in the circumstances ?

To address the original quesiton- it is not for the govt to ' take some responsibility' above or ahead of gaining whatever assistance they can from a foreign police force, and quite what they think the UK police can do that the local police cannot is beyond me. There is nothing saintly or superhuman about the UK police believe me and doe anyone really truly believe that the Portugeuse police didn't bother trying to find the culprits? Come on get real, this is a small missing child, no-one is interested in blaming anyone because of the nationality, but the MaCanns did portray themselves as uncaring and irresponsible when they left their children alone whilst they went drinking- maybe that's why thePortugeuse police looked at them in the first place.

Of course there is a limit. Folk's patience can't be infinite with one or two individuals wanting all the attention and making all the demands of others.

There is a difference between "any other mother" and some mothers.

I would only raise my voice and point in anger at any mother who didn't seem overly fussed over the disappearance of her child.

I know your comments were addressed to OG but I will give my opinion:
1. Yes, they should just shut-up about Maddy, now.
2. Yes, personally, I've heard quite enough about it.
They weren't so worried when she was alive that they didn't go out on the p.ss leaving her unattended.
Now she's(presumably) dead the government must take responsibility.
Not in my book. They should have taken responsibility when she was alive.
