Morning guys! Ok, to cut long story short - my hubby sent me a txt yesterday whilst he was at work, saying his friend was going to Las Vegas in October for a week to celebrate his 40th, and could he go? He reckons his friend is paying for everybodys flights and hotels, and all he has to provide is spending money, which I find hard to believe for a start. Oh, and he needed to know by the eve as his friend needed to pay that night! Now apart from the fact that he clearly has know for ages and just wanted to put me on the spot, I cant stand this friend. Every time he sees him something happens, and not something good .he totally changes when he is with this guy, and not in a nice way. His friend is just a hard drinking gobby single bloke and the last person on earth I would imagine being his mate. Hubby met him for a lunchtime drink a few years ago - and wasn't seen for 24 hours! And he wants to go to Vegas for a week?? I really really don't like the whole idea. Your thoughts??

wouldn't have been better had your husband spoke to you in person about this, sending a text is wrong, as though he has something to hide. Put you on the spot because you will be the bad guy if you don't agree, this is highly suspicious behaviour. Do you trust your husband, because i am not sure i would want a bloke around who wafted off for a pint and was gone 24 hours.
Smow, you seem to continually have....well, problems with your husband. When are you going to say enough is enough?
i wouldn't like this, and if he has caused these problems before why are you putting up with it?
Do you fancy a week in [insert favourite city name], Smow? I'm free in October.

Now think how Mr Smow would react to that?

Dxx
From previous history I really wouldn't like it either, as Dave says sort something out for yourself (Brum is very nice in the summer) and have a break.

How have things been lately, has his attitude improved, is his relationship with young Smow ok? Go by that, if he's making a tremendous effort indoors then throw him a bone and grit your teeth, if not then have a think about what you want out of the marriage.
\\\\ could he go? \\\

How could you stop him?

Don't fret over this as he has already made up his mind.
Does he know you don't want him to go?

If he does, and he still wants to, there's not a lot you can say or do is there? How you deal with it is up to you.

Hmm dodgy. I would be checking the bank balance to make sure he isn't paying for it. Or if he is even leaving the country. Just sounds super dodgy. Sorry just my opinion.
the gobby hard drinking bloke is not the problem, I don't think you trust your husband,,,,,,,,,,,,,sorry
Dodgy, very very dodgy! Sounds like he wants a week of the single life.
Ooo let him go - I'd love to know what happens.
'' what happens in vegas , stays in vegas '' ?
anne LOL^^^^
That in itself just speaks volumes doesn't it Anne?

Sorry- had a meeting. I agree, he has prob made mind up.
A colleague of mine took his mates for a stag weekend in Madrid, no hotel booked....best not to think about it.
You can't actually stop him from going so negotiate.

If he can make time for a week away with his friend he can also make time for a family holiday.......
I'd guess your husband is 18 years old....am I close?

Every point you have all made is correct. Since teen smow has been back he has tried really hard and actually everything has been good, better then it has been for a long time. He hasn't even been seeing this friend for months. Then this txt yesterday out of the blue has totally thrown me. Ive met this group of blokes once and my husband looks so out of place next to them I almost laughed. They are like a gang of hard men you see fighting in the pub at the end of the night - and my hubby is a well spoken suited n booted businessman - it just looks odd lol.
(Brum is very nice in the summer)

As is Baghdad and Beirut! LOL

Forget Brum, if you want a bit of revenge pop up to North Wales, there'll be a welcome in the hillside.......

So his mate is paying for the flights AND hotel?! Who is he, Richard Branson?
I have to ask, do you seriously believe he is going to Vegas or is he using that as a cover story for an away fixture in a cottage in the Lake District?
