Appears at court today but what of the charges he faces? The 'uniform' charge is bizarre to say the least. Short video in the link where Golding outlines the situation.

mikey, the mosque is being built on a car park adjacent to the station, which is a key commuting point for workers in London. as well as the loss of that facility, the local council has arranged a deal with the train company for the mosque to block-buy nearly 80 spaces in their own car park. thus aside from the disruption of the building work itself, the resultant...

AOG - now that has put the cat among the pigeons!

Who can argue with those straplines?
... all of which no doubt explains why BF has so many Facebook followers, many of whom I am sure are hoodwinked by the spin, just to revert to the earlier point.
But it's the actual organisation that concerns me. And no offshoot of the BNP, out of the dubious loins of loyalist paramilitarism, is going to be anything other than one to be avoided.
Question Author
Ichkeria

How many of the half a million followers do you suppose are 'hoodwinked by spin'?

Regardless, you are insulting a lot of people's intelligence.
ichkeria

Are you the type of person, that if someone came up to you and said "don't have anything to do with him over there, he's a bad en", would immediately hate him or would you take the more tolerant way and wait until he commits something horrible against yourself?
Question Author
AOG

Judging by the majority of responses on here there are plenty with high tolerance levels...
ANOTHEOLDGIT would you be okay if I telt someone to have nothing to do with you because you are a xenophobic bigot or would you prefer them to base their opinion on any interactions with you?

If you told someone not to have anything to do with AOG

a) it would be water off a duck's back and
b) at least he would be safe.
I responded earlier to a post by Mikey in which he accused BF of racism, based on its opposition to the mosque. My take on this was BF opposed the mosque because it perceives Islam as a threat to British society. I then attempted to explain those circumstances which, in my opinion, would justify that perception, and invited BF's critics to say whether or not those circumstances DID, in fact, pertain. So far not one of you has responded. I ought to be surprised, but, sadly, I am not.
Question Author
v_e - indeed you did, some pages back. It was in fact a very good post.

Sadly, a lot of people are dismissive and just cry 'racism, fascism, etc. It seems you can't put Britain first as it is racist. Nobody has yet commented on the headings AOG provided and that is because each heading is true, except for ichkeria who mentioned 'spin'.
Should a British ssquaddiein the army for a few months based in the UK in Aldershot be at an advantage over anyone who is at risk such as a fireman or a police officer for example who has done their job for twenty year?
Question Author
v_e - Jayda Fransen, who is standing for the BF was asked on radio recently why she didn't get around the table with the Imam to discuss the situation concerning the mosque to be built.

She's really going to do that isn't she after she has negotiated the segregated entrance...
TCL, police and fire services personnel, whilst at as much risk as squaddies, are funded mostly at local level and their finance therefore comes out of a different budget. whether plod gets to drive a top of the range beemer is a matter for his police authority and the chief constable; whether private smith gets any better protection that a 30 year old land rover defender is definitely a matter for the ministry of defence, QED central government.
No part of my post was intended as an endorsement of BF as a political organisation, AG. I know nothing about them, haven't followed any of the links about them which have appeared in posts on this thread, and you wouldn't catch me dead on Facebook "liking","hating", "friending" anybody or any thing. I tried to make a specific point about aspects of Islam in modern Britain which might in part account for the BF agenda. There is a broader issue which deserves more than the purblind ramblings about fascism which have appeared on this thread. Given the amount of sneers they throw at people they consider dimmer, nastier and less well-educated than themselves you might expect at least some of them to respond to my modest challenge.
My own politics? Slightly to the right of AOG, slightly to the left of Genghis Khan.
AOG, I knew you could do it if you tried. Maybe you should have dug a little deeper than those headlines. Stuff like this is fairly enlightening:

This is the public face of BF (quite scary):

I appreciate what you say and your neutral standpoint with logical reasoning has helped to temper this debate.

Far better to look for answers to todays problems rather than the put-downs and dismissals from those who have little to offer in return.

Regarding the 'public face' link I can assure you that is not the public face. Anyone who has seen or been part of a march will not have their face partly or fully covered up, unlike some 'anti fascists' who had their faces covered up last weekend at Rochester.

Digested the first link written by the 'Yorkshire blogger.'

I note it dates from earlier this year so I wonder if he has yet had a reply from the Electoral Commission concerning his 'views' that party donations are being received illegally?

In line witn v_e's thoughts, the closing part says it all '[i]best way is to take the *** and laugh at them[i]' - very profound stuff...
If it's not the public face, what is it?
vetuste_ennemi...I will answer your question ( 16:16)...my apologies that I haven't done earlier, but Saturday is a long day in work for me.

All of which you have said about Islam may undoubtedly true, at least for some Muslims, but you make the classic mistake of lumping all Muslims together and tarring them all with same brush.

I am old enough to remember the backlash against Catholics in particular and the Irish in general, in Birmingham, after the Pub bombings 30 years ago this month, because the same generalisations were made against people from background. Because we were Catholics and from a Northern Ireland family, we were supposed to have the same opinions and motives about terrorism as the IRA. These opinions were patently untrue and it was extremely ignorant and offensive to say so. The same mistake is now being made with Muslims.

Muslims comprise less than 5% of the British population, according to the latest information provided by the 2011 Census. And yet they seem to account for nearly 100% of our problems according to some. I have close Hindu friends and they are now being treated with the same hate and fear as Muslims, just because they look similar. They are even being called P***s, despite this being a ludicrous accusation.

Lets be quite clear about "Britain First". They are just the latest in a long and sorry manifestation of organised racism in Britain today. Moseley blamed the Jews for everything. John Tyndale blamed the Afro-Caribbeans, and now the BNP, BF, and others, even more extreme, are playing the race card by blaming the Muslims for everything.

If you and others are incapable of seeing through the cuddly smokescreen of pictures of the Queen and Armed Forces and the Union Flag, which BF and the BNP is want to scatter its loathsome literature with, then I suggest you look a little closer and with more interlectual vigour. Both BF and the BNP offer no way forward, only scapegoat politics.
vetuste_ennemi...forgot to add....you said at 16:52 ....

"I know nothing about them, ( Britain First) haven't followed any of the links about them which have appeared in posts on this thread"

Can I helpfully suggest that you take the trouble to learn about BF, as the more you learn, the better you will be informed.
