I have no idea in what context the photo was taken. I can only reiterate that it is not representative of BF activists when campaigning in public.

Correct and thanks for confirming my earlier post about BF appearances in public campaigns.

To me, the appearance in the photo is not acceptable though who knows what point Golding is making in the background. We weren't in the audience.

Golding himself faces a trial in January as per the OP. One of the charges relates to wearing a uniform. This is an absurd charge as explained in my exchange earlier today with AOG.

AGCHRISTIE, you were correct about the word 'absurd' but only in relation to ANOTHEOLDGIT's examples since the uniform must relate to a political group so football fans are in no danger.

The BF campaign in Rochester is being fought on one issue, the granting of another mosque.

In the 2011 Census the population for Medway was appx 250,000 with just 5,000 declaring themselves as Muslim.

The approval of another mosque has resulted in stiff opposition.

The point is that many activists wear their own casual dress. There is no uniform, the attire shown can be obtained from the BF website.

In the picture with the men wearing scarves, are they in uniform? The picture I posted, they are members of a Defence Force (their description not mines) and they are in uniform unless it is an amazing co-incidence that they all got dressed up the same even to wearing a flat cap.

I've read through all this, coming in at the (so far) end of the thread, where scarves are an issue. If I were to protest publicly, I would expect my face to be seen because I would not be ashamed of my views and would be prepared to stand up for them.

Thus far, the BF stance seems fine. It is hard to disagree with their main statements - but I don't really like the look of them when one goes a bit deeper. At least I can see them - and if their opponents feel it necessary to cover their faces then I am not prepared to give them the time of day, so the BF is preferable on that basis.
