Very sensible. Brexit seriously threatens the existence of the U.K. and threatens to destabilise Ireland. She has no choice. The votes in Scotland and NI cannot be ignored. What exactly one does, I don't know, but I don't think anyone else does yet either

Brexit supporters were lying all the time. All politicians were lying. It's a shame that apparently that doesn't matter to people.
It's silly to see people in denial about this, or more troubling to pretend that it doesn't matter. It does -- because these are the people who ultimately will make the decisions, no? Well, some of them anyway. Half of the leaders of the Leave campaign ran a mile once the result came in.

People are brilliant at seeing the holes other people are digging, but never their own. I appreciate the potential irony of this statement, by the way. But my main point is it's a pathetic response to talk about holes people are digging, because it's not an argument or discussion, just a way to avoid one.
But never mind. The aspirations, if you will, may well turn out to be hollow. If that's so, I look forward to seeing the next way people weasel out of it.

As usual this thread has strayed away from the original post.
Personally I never see a problem with this, threads either develop or end rather quickly..
As I don't see a problem with it can we for a change stop the predictable Farage rhetoric (because we have heard all that on numerous occasions)
And let us sing the praises of the top people running the European union.
Let us start with Jean-Claude Drunker.

"The figure given was clearly only 'some' of the money we pay to the EU each year."
The figure given was £350 million a week, no? That represents all of the money we give to the EU each week. In fact, it represents more than all of it, because we never gave £350 million a week to the EU, but something closer to half of that.
The headline was clear, even if it was just an aspiration. No doubt if you go to the small print you'll find some small print, but the headline said what it said, and shouldn't have said that.
