Andy .. personally having decided not to answer that familiar question found on a job aplication .. 'Do you consider yourself to have a disability'.. I found my offers to attend an interview increased dramaticaly. I know for a fact that discrimination is alive and well, having spoke to many managers 'off the record'.
Should Aldi ask about a prospective employees ability to handle meat and alchohol, I think the answers received would sort out those that have a chance ànd those that dont. The offer of employment should not be based on offending or discriminating against ethnic groups and their beliefs.
Aldi can always fall back on those famous words and relinquish all claims of discrimination..
"Thank you for your application, but unfortunately on this occasion your application has been unsuccessful. The standard of applicant on this occasion was so high, we had great difficulty in making our final choice. We wish you every success in the future."...
