What needs explaining TWR? What can't you understand?
How come some catholic will serve birth control and some won't?
The outrage at the outrage is rather distasteful. One should debate whether it is best to do the right thing or the wrong thing.

/// If you don't like it don't shop there!! Simple really!! All this outrage is quite distasteful. ///

Why do we constantly have to change our lifestyles so as to fit in with certain minority's quirks?

Refusing to serve alcohol now, what next?

It's the thin edge of the sword. ( pun intended)

Are you expecting me to says 'that's fine'?

In all religions there are devout believers and non devout believers.
How come not all Christians go to church on a Sunday?
Irrelevant, Danny.
Very relevant Talbot, there are Muslims who stick strictly to the Koran and others who don't.In this case it would appear that the till girl was of the former.
That's choice, Danny. But you wouldn't expect them to get a weekend job and then say they can't work on Sundays.
No, I wouldn't Pixie.
I blame aldi when training their staff they should tell them you are expected to serve alcohol at all times if not sorry we are unable to offer you a job
Exactly- it should be clear what the job involves.
Have you got a link to the relevant bit of the Koran that says you can't sell alcohol.

If it is the case then a potential employer should be allowed to ask what views the applicant has on alcohol.
Talbot, you are being a little facetious. Selling alcohol is not mentioned in the Koran but touching it probably is.I shall now leave this discussion
Even if that were true, no one is asking them to open the bottle and go touching the goods.
It isn't facetious. Anybody could claim any views to prevent them doing their job properly. It's hardly fair on other staff. It needs to be clear from the start what the job entails.
O' dear ... do we have a flounce announce form dedicated to leaving a thread?

Who said it was a female, had it had been so and she was that much of a devout Muslim, most likely she would also be wearing a burqa.

If she had, it would have saved Aldi the trouble of putting up the sign.
The elderly Muslim lady in our local Lidl simply wears a rubber glove on her right hand. No problems for her when scanning a bottle of wine.
09.05, As Expected, every time a subject like this comes up your on the defensive, the girl knew that Aldi sells Alchol, did she expect rules to be changed just for her & her religion, would she have applied to Baxters the Butchers knowing what they sell.
