Perhaps before the accident he and his mother were arguing and he wasn't concentrating on his driving as he should have been, regardless of the drinking (maybe they were arguing about that). It could be that he blamed his mother distracting him for the accident, so he was shouting at her.
I see the owners of the other car have talked to the newspapers. I wondered how long it would be before they plugged their restaurant

No, Andy, your response was to my post: you quoted it at the beginning of your post, before saying the courts wouldn't decide on the basis of a photograph. My comment wasn't based - as you implied - on a photograph, it was based on the short video which you seem not to have watched before disagreeing with me. We'll soon see if/when he's charged...

I suspect that it wasn't alcohol still in his system from the previous night, not at 4pm.

He has previously admitted to problems with alcohol.
