It's not surprising that all the Tory loving, blue rinse brigade on this site, think that anyone whose opinion is the opposite to theirs, must be left wing anti-British. How dare anyone visit this website and have an opinion that upsets the AB natives. Tut tut.

Perhaps Jim360 and jno are producing the figures for their favourite country also, retro!
Have a look at this:

Why?
What point are you not going to try and make?
Greece's death rate (per capita) is well in line with its neighbours in east/central Europe, countries like Bulgaria, Montenegro, Croatia, Albania, Cyprus, Bosnia. Perhaps western Europe is handling it spectacularly badly.

Or perhaps all eastern Europeans are liars. Yes, that must be it.
Every country in Europe hasn't been reporting thousands of deaths. France, Spain, Italy, the UK, Belgium, Germany, Sweden, and the Netherlands have. Switzerland, Ireland and Portugal have reported between 1,000 and 2,000 (ie, not "thousands"). Everywhere else has reported less than 1,000. Naturally they are helped by smaller populations on average, but even taking that into account Greece isn't particularly unusual in reporting comparatively low death toll.

I'm in neither Shanghai nor St Petersburg, nor any other city you could care to invent. I'm reporting nothing other than information that is freely available. You're reporting nothing at all. I would love, dearly, to see what it is you're basing your posts on.
16:59 my point also.
I dont think the Eastern Europeans are liars, the Brit haters on this site are the liars.
then explain the figures, iluvmargie. Have you even looked at them?
What figures??
Oh and please do not tell me what to do.
Aye,right, jno.Thousands of deaths all across Europe, and Greece has 150.No way,no way, even a Brit hater like you cant hide this nonsense from us.
//I hope the link takes you to the article re Greece as the headline is somewhat misleading! //

Too true it's misleading. A Bankrupt country in debt to their EU masters.High unemployment. Pensioners who were well off and comfortable are now queuing at food banks.Islands over run with illegal immigrants and placed in camps.
The Greeks have a considerably shorter tourist season than their other Mediterranean counterparts and they rely heavily on tourists in the middle of a global pandemic?
Have some never heard the old saying,'Beware of Greeks bearing Gifts?'
// /Greece reports 150.Aye,right/.

Well that's 70 more than Russia have admitted to. //

I don't think Russia's reporting is remotely accurate, but they have "admitted to" 1,915 total deaths so far. 88 reported today, perhaps that's what you had in mind.
A strange site this Retrocop,i sometimes wonder whether it has been infiltrated by either the Chinese (based in Shanghai )or the Russians( based in St.Petersburg).Perhaps a Mod or the ED could enlighten us?
//88 reported today, perhaps that's what you had in mind//

Indeed it is. Thank you. Sorry I didn't make that more clear. Still a load of old pony given Russia's dubious total.
Or, perhaps, by people who've bothered to check their data before commenting.

It isn't anti-British to report the official situation in Greece, or, for that matter, in every other country. On the other hand, it's anti-Greek to reject their figures out of hand with no evidence, and it's anti-European to likewise reject every other country's figures, or to mis-report them.

Again, I don't claim that the statistics from Greece are 100% accurate. I do claim that they would have to be spectacularly wrong in order to support your position, which there is no evidence for. Where are the reports of bodies piling up on the street, of hospitals being overwhelmed, of care home residents being decimated? Maybe I have missed them but I can find nothing. It would seem that Greece has managed, for now, to keep good control of the Covid-19 outbreak there.

Perhaps all isn't quite as hunky-dory as the Greek government would have the world believe.

Yes, I am sceptical (understatement) about Russia's reported death toll too.

Although funnily enough, part of the reason may be that Russia's reporting method doesn't automatically include Covid-19 as a cause of death even if the patient tested positive. So by some accounts that may make it *more* accurate, bearing in mind the "with Covid or of Covid?" debate. So it is, as usual, tricky in the extreme to assess. The implication of the article below is that we may have to wait until late next year for anything like a "true" picture of the death toll in Russia, and even that may be optimistic.

I admire the way you continue to use logic and show dignity in the face of so much nonsense, aggression and accusations that you are lying or a Chinese/Russian plant. jim360
