This sort of “yah boo sucks” jingoism is pretty embarrassing when it comes out of the mouth of a government minister.
I’m delighted that we have approved this vaccine (which after all is one developed overseas) so quickly. But it doesn’t mean we are better than Belgium or anywhere else.
By that logic Russia, which approved its own vaccine last August, is the greatest country on earth.
And I’m certain Mr W would rightly have something to say about that.
