That changed in the last couple of weeks, exactly in line with the easing.
You don't need 100% compliance to control the epidemic. Most of us are law-abiding citizens. Even those on this site who object to the rules tend to still abide by them. What you need, then, are competent rules and competent rule-makers.

Yesterday DD suggested they come and stay with me. I thought about it...but all the possible what ifs told me no. And I explained that. Her answer...bless her..."well, we will have to do lots of video calls then". There is no other way. Now tgere definitely isn't. But now I will worry more about them...and there is still my soul crying out for some human contact. This will all pass.

Absolutely typical of Boris - his 5 day free-for-all idea was b***** stupid in the first place. So now, suddenly, there's this mutation which they've known about since September which gives him the opportunity to do the climbdown while trying to make it look as if it isn't him at fault. What a coward. Why not hands up and say "I totally *** this up."
