We were having a low key one with just my brother and nephew. Nephew tested positive yesterday, though he'll be out of quarantine by Christmas Day, my brother is not taking it seriously enough, so I was going to tell them both to stay at home. Boris has done that for me.
that for some maybe many it won;t make a jot of difference. No matter the governments rulings. It will affect me not a jot. I can't go to family anyway, so being one tier on i can't see there being much of a difference.
Step son works from home and sees no one other than going to the local supermarket after moving from Cambs, if he does travel to us it'll be by car not public transport , the hiccup would be the 5 day plan has now been scrapped to just Christmas Day , I doubt we will see him in that case
Yes Webbo, very well thanks, I hope you and yours are too
I think it's absolutely unforgivable to bring that in with less than a week to go after saying for ages whatever we won't cancel Christmas. They'll be tears shed in my family that's for sure.
I feel sorry for the small businesses that will have to close again just before Christmas. Probably too late to instigate online shopping in time for Christmas.
//No change for us. we remain in Tier 2 and spending on one day with family so all well for us thankfully.//
So long as that one day is Christmas Day, maydup. The relaxations that were planned for five days are now restricted to that one. Other than that you will be under T2 rules, which restrict indoor gatherings to household or "support bubble" only.
i haven;t shed any tears so far, but i damn well feel like it, no contact with family as they are 70 miles off. I can talk to them on the phone of course, but not the same as getting to see them, who knows when that might be.
