One of the last things Trump did before leaving office was - guess what: rescind his so-called "Drain the swamp" order, to allow his family - who I think uniquely among presidents he had put in positions of power in the administation, to lobby etc to their hearts' content in future.

I think that this is probably true, I recall being in the US in 2004 and talking with a couple from Texas who were, they said, registered Republicans. However they heartily disliked Bush Jnr and were really unsure about how they would vote.
