// But until the heartless decision by President Joe Biden was taken to pull US troops out of what they called their “forever” war, much had been achieved in Afghanistan. //
Lord Dannat seems unaware that a peace deal was hammered out in February last year, long before Biden was elected. The deal, agreed with the Taliban, was for all US troops to be withdrawn.

The Biden Administration got this bit badly wrong…

// Alarm has grown as some military experts predict that Kabul, the Afghan capital, may fall within 30 to 90 days. Some lawmakers are taking that prediction with a grain of salt, according to a congressional aide, although they say that the Taliban may be able to seize the heavily fortified city in six months to a year. //
Meanwhile a page on the Republican Party’s website hailing Trump’s historic peace deal with the Taliban, has just been quietly removed.

Well of course, the scumbag would say that wouldn't he ? but only a fool would believe that to be the case.
Half-wits believe anything Trump does simply has to be wrong. As a man & as a president, he has always shown great respect for the military, he wanted them out, but without casualties, if he had remained in office that would have happened.

Biden's final act in Kabul was to have a rainbow flag flying over the American Embassy. Did anybody try to explain that this was not a good look to the half wit? Be interesting to watch how the US armed forces operate in future. Cant see the white supremacist, privileged, haters signing up any time soon can you?
Trump was a terrible president, whereas Biden is just rubbish.
It's much easier to diagnose what happened when you're not blinkered by support for one president or another: Trump set it up, Biden saw it through (late) and of course takes the opportunity to blame his predecessor - why wouldn't he? That's "politics".

TTT: 'Research by Brown University estimates losses in the Afghan security forces at 69,000. It puts the number of civilians and militants killed at about 51,000 each. More than 3,500 coalition soldiers have died since 2001 - about two-thirds of them Americans. More than 20,000 US soldiers have been injured.'
69,000 Afghan soldiers killed is a large number considering they "wont fight".

....well they more or less rolled out the red carpet. I don't think the non Taliban Afghans etc have really done everything they can. TBH though there seems to be a lot of blurred lines. You can't tell who's who and you can't trust anyone not to just at best emulate and pretend to side with the Taliban, at worst actually start fighting for them. I think there is large tacit approval, especially among the men. The whole sorry dump is not worth any more western lives, we have tried to help for 20 years, now they'll have to sort their own shower out. I agreed with most of what Biden said.
The Afghan administrators and government officials fled when they saw their commander in chief ... Bye Den ... run. If the withdrawal had been measured and assured with a pledge to provide military assistance if necessary, as the previous administration had, then it would have been likely that they felt safe in carrying on. Once Biden ran away how could they stay? Every army in history has fled when the leader has done so.
