//What solution to this issue would you suggest New judge?//
They need to be physically prevented from landing here. If lifeboats and coastguard cutters are to be used to "intercept" them those interceptions should involve taking them back to France, not landing them here. Those who do make it should be returned immediately - that is they should be taken immediately to the Port of Dover where a small vessel would operate 24/7 from there back to Calais. That will do for a start. The government needs to concentrate its efforts on preventing them landing, not on what to do with them when they arrive. Nobody living in France is under threat and we should have no obligation to assist them in any way.
// In fact they're asylum seekers,..//
Why do you say this, Paigntonian? They are not asylum seekers. They have arrived from France where they are safe and under no threat (and in fact have passed through numerous other similar countries in order to get there). They simply don't like it there and would prefer it here, that's all. The number you mention may seem small but why should a seaside hotel in South Devon be requisitioned to accommodate people who have no right to be here?
