Because a majority of them are not patriots and wish to show alliance to a foreign elite whom they would prefer to rule over them (and presumably they approve of that elite being awkward and causing issues for the UK).
Maggiebee, so you would fly the EU flag because Scotland didn’t vote to leave - but you wouldn’t fly the Union flag even though Scotland voted to stay. How does that work then? I thought, for you, it was all about what Scotland wants but it can’t be.
naomi: "I thought, for you, it was all about what Scotland wants but it can’t be. " - no it's about what maggie wants. Sounds like both the 2014 and the 2016 referenda gave the "wrong" answers.
Alas the bravehearters up here hijacked the st Andrews cross flag..and it has connotations I do not support as a result..I am more than happy with the union jack
TTT to be honest I don't really care what you think as it does not impact on my life in any way, shape or form. I am entitled to my opinion which is that Scotland would be far better off with independence.
Maggiebee, that’s pretty much how Leavers feel about the EU, the only difference being that you would gladly relinquish Scotland’s independence for another master. That makes no sense whatsoever to me.
Maggiebee @14:06
\\"'With over a million people calling London their home from other European countries it's extraordinary that the Government has effectively banned the European flag being flown without going through a long and bureaucratic planning process.". I'd be happy to fly this flag.//
What is the European flag, there is no such thing, that blue flag is the flag of a trading bloc.

Carry on folks - I have a very thick skin (you need it when you're a Scot) but nothing any of you say will change my mind. I've said all I'm going to say on this post.

Why would they expect an EUSSR flag, any more than Brits living there want the town halls flying the Union flag? I suspect they don't this is just more in house trobbery from the local 5C civil non servants.
