This Is Incredible !!!
Nigel Farage may be hounded out of the UK

It seems that any suspicion gives banks the right to close accounts, without explanation, to avoid risk, even when such suspicion/ risk seems ridiculously small and remote. That seems wrong. Obviously society shouldn't tip off the bad guys that they are under suspicion, but one wonders what society thinks closing the accounts of everyone around them...

Farage via Khandro> Be aware: if they are coming for me today, they can come for you tomorrow.
And many others came for them yesterday, with connections to African or Asian connections rather than Russian ones. But for some reason, nobody mentioned about them for years gone past ...
If you are "normal", if you haven't had financial connections from Russia, Africa, some of the Middle East ... then you'll be OK. They can't close everybody's bank account or they won't have a business. Most will still have to be open.
But don't think it's all about the banks. The origins (latest iteration, anyway) come from the financial scandals that resulted in Sarbanes-Oxley act in 2002, and then the banking collapse later in the 2000s, and the constraints that were added after that - including money laundering regulations that are in many ways good ideas. To meet these regulations without closing bank accounts would be hugely burdensome and expensive for banks - easier not to bother, just close the account. And that is what has been happening, by loads and loads of people ...

We're not talking about Swiss banks in the 1940s, we're talking about British banks in the 2020s. As said, a lot has changed in the last 20 years, let alone 80.
We don't want undesirables in our banking system, especially not when friends are being killed in Ukraine by Russians. Transferring money, maybe since 2014 when Russia "annexed" (invaded) Ukraine, is not wanted by mainstream British banks, especially those with royal connections, it seems.

I've just read that a C of E Vicar has also had his Yorkshire B.Soc. account cancelled - because he wrote a polite letter to them questioning their promotion of 'Pride'. That they are a business, not a social engineering firm was, I've gathered, the gist of his complaint. I admit that I don't know much more, but it is rather alarming, if true.

Yes I am aware of that. I am suggesting that if our financial banking system wishes to willy nilly close accounts of legitimate account holders without giving a reason then they can go to hell and I want to know if I can get an account opened in a swiss bank or any other bank in London that will accept my legitimate money. Our British long established banks and Building societies are a ruddy disgrace and I would be happy to take my investments elsewhere. It stinks to high heaven. I don't expect this country to run a Stasiesque banking system. I fully respect that money laundering and terrorist donations must be controlled and investigated but just because you have a foreign name? That is unacceptable and not the country I grew up in.

Perhaps all our left wingers who are happy to see Mr Farage's accounts shut down would be happy to see the banks report all the 'undesirables' with foreign sounding names who hold legitimate accounts be extradited. We don't want hard working families from Nigeria and Anglian vicars with views on Pride in this country do we? Those who invest their legitimately earned wages have their accounts closed. Yes. Why don't the left suggest they be sent to Rwanda? Our lefties want the chancers and illegal economic immigrants come in but despise people who invest in our country and are here legitimately and pay their way and taxes.
Naomi - Coutts is part of NatWest. NatWest is one of the banks that is closing people who have connections with Russia, Africa, the Middle East ... simple is that. I gave you one link earlier from 2018 - if you took a look, you'd see that was NatWest too.
Now, do you want me to look at all the speculation you've given? Let's try this one at 9:03:
> I agree OG - and that extends, I think, to what has happened Nigel Farage. He doesn't follow the 'recommended' line of thinking - ie he's a Brexiteer - so off you go, Nigel. Everyone, without exception, should find that concerning. Today him, tomorrow you? Who knows?

Farage has been a moaning git for the last 20 years.
It is what got him elected as an MEP in the first place.
Now he is not an MEP on a nice salary and pension, he is grifting to anyone who will give him money. - Dodgy Arron Banks and his ‘Dodgy Russian Money, RT, the Kohl bothers or individual donors, Farage isn’t fussy.
His bank (Coutts) is seeing where the dirty money is coming from and thinking - we don’t want to be associated with this. And are severing all connections.
