It seems that any suspicion gives banks the right to close accounts, without explanation, to avoid risk, even when such suspicion/risk seems ridiculously small and remote. That seems wrong. Obviously society shouldn't tip off the bad guys that they are under suspicion, but one wonders what society thinks closing the accounts of everyone around them...

I do think it is far more likely that his accounts were suspended for suspicious activity... huge sums of money have made their to way to his various political parties with no identifiable source so he's obviously connected to the world of dark money
Retro, as I said before (9:58 to 10:11) it's been going on for years and it isn't about Brexit. Here is the article I gave earlier from 2018 that is almost identical in format to Farage's complaint - almost the same words and phrases in some places - but a completely different person's background:

Thanks for that link Ellipsis. - Very informative.

Retro ;// Are these two people allegedly receiving Russian Money as well or have they also had their accounts closed just because of their Political affiliations?//

Nigel, like hundreds of other people in the limelight, appeared several times on the RT (Russia Today) news channel, which was broadcast in English from a London studio. It was sponsored by the Russian government & closed down in 2022.

We used to watch it & found it interesting - didn't always agree with some of its content, but I don't always agree with the BBC or Sky either.

So it's fair to say & Nigel does, that he & anyone else appearing on it for interview would be, "receiving Russian money".

Looks like financial institutions are exceeding their remit when they are conducting immigration checks as well on their customers. Mr Farage is getting warm when he believes we are becoming like China or Russia. Particularly with personal movements around this country and vehicle tracking etc but that's another story.

Prior to the illegal invasion of Ukraine by Russia Kandro ?

Retro; I think RT went off air in the UK & maybe the US as well quite some time ago. I only read, while checking for this topic, that it completely closed down in 2022. I think it was replaced by something called Sputnik which Alex Salmond had something to do with, but I never watched it.
Yes, the 'Special Military Operation' may have had something to do with its folding.
Was Alex Salmond's bank account closed when he worked for the Russian State broadcaster and staunchly defended it during the Salisbury poisonings?
Was he paid? If so, and his bank account hasn't been closed yet, it may be soon ...
If Mr Farage received renumeration for doing a few slots on a Russian network prior to sanctions imposed on Russia I don’t understand why it may be considered dirty money and there is closure on his account.I assume it hasn’t been confiscated but he just has nowhere to put it because of his politics?
I don’t understand that either, retro. If he thought there was anything untoward with his account I doubt he’d be shouting about it.
Was George Galloway's bank account closed for working for the same Russian State broadcaster? It has been some 15months since the propaganda arm of Russia in the west was shut down by Ofcom. It would appear that the lickspittles who worked for it are not disenfranchised by their banks. Has Slàinte Media, the Scottish company that "produced" their output of cant, had its bank account closed?

That is my feelings exactly & has been since this started.

I have followed the fortunes of Nigel Farage for several years & he has always appeared to be an honest, & highly intelligent man.

I remember during the early days of the Brexit debate him being continually hounded by a dreadful Ch.4 & ITN reporter called Michael Crick, who pestered him even when he was walking down the street asking inane questions, but he remained eloquently aloof. He's always been a target for the left, but fought his corner honourably.

I think whether someone likes Nigel Farage or not, indicates quite a lot about a person :0)
It would be very ironic if a man who has been a hate figure for the left was driven out of the country by Coutts, a snooty bank.
And very funny :-)
Think how you’d laugh if it happened to you, gromit.

Togo; That is depressing news, or it should be to all here. But in China, Russia & N.Korea, it would be par for the course. In China everyone has a rating & with facial recognition, & if a person does even the slightest thing wrong such as ignoring a pedestrian crossing signal they lose points, your rating is taken into account when you apply for a flat or a job.

It's all coming folks!

Gromit. Coutts is owned by Natwest
//Coutts is owned by Natwest//

Nat West is 35% owned by the public. Time to sell ... to a Chinese company maybe and get our money back.
If this continues, with around ¼ of the UK population believing Brexit to be a great success – they could all find themselves denied banking services in the UK.
2 + 2 = 5
