Anyone reading the threads on this site would know that I am a lone voice pointing out the truth about Farage and his banking with Coutts – well, it would appear that one Frances Coppola is also aware of the facts (unlike most on AB).
The Bank has a duty of care to its share holders to ensure that its clients do not put them a risk of being involved in money laundering or other financial mis-dealings (which could have serious consequences for the bank) – so it’s quite reasonable that they investigate clients for such risks, and the details of those investigations are held on file, and could be used in the Bank’s defence should a client ultimately be found to have been engaged in say money laundering.
Amongst my friends, work colleagues an acquaintances, no one is really bothered about Farage’s bank account.
But he has found an harmless new cause. One that won’t screw up our trade and economy. So go for it Nige… !
Keep whipping the dead horse. Clearly Coutts, Natwest et al were all wrong and should have listened to you, Hymie and your opinion, and were, despite what they say, right to close Farage's account and report on their concern about his politics. Do you believe that?! How deluded can you be?? There's no point clinging to a mistake just because you spent a lot of time making it. The inability to move is beyond embarrassing.
Odder and odder. No-ones keeping it secret- its accepted by everyone (but maybe not you) that Coutts took other issues into account like his views on issues like Trump or brexit and then tried to hide it
The whole point is that had Coutts/NatWest not leaked info to the BBC – Farage would have nothing to complain about, other than the Coutts report noted what an idiot he is.
