Whilst it's almost certainly time for a change, I feel sorry for Sir Kier & Co. The problem they have (which Labour didn't have in 1997) is that they can't provide hope. They can't say "thing can only get better" like they did in 1997 because the long shadow of international conflict, cost of living, climate change and economic uncertainty cannot be magically banished.
I like that we're finally getting rid of the Cons, but I fear
a) Labour will have the shortest every honeymoon period and
b) they can't say "things can only get better" (like they did in the 90s)
It's going to be nigh on impossible to convey positivity with climate change, economic uncertainty, international conflicts and the cost of living crisis still ongoing.
Whilst it might be time for a change, I reckon within a few months, people will be saying, "Kier - you're rubbish too!"
