//Not a very Christian approach is it?/You seem to know, please tell us. //
I "seem to know" what exactly?
And who is "us"?
...............
To say that something isn't "Christian " can only mean that you know what being Christian is. So please tell us (us being everyone interested to learn your wisdom on this thread). What is the Christian approach to such an evil attack which took the lives of 3 innocent children & mutilated, & almost took the life of their schoolteacher trying to defend them, plus stabbing of, was it six others.
Do tell us andy, or was it just another of your supercilious, snide remarks ?

I do know what being Christian is, in the broadest sense of the term - I used to be one, but no longer.

I am addressing you and only you Khandro. if you want to assume there is a legion of people hanging breathlessly on my every utterence, don't let me stop you. But I am talking to you alone.

I would suggest that it is not suggesting the summary execution of someone who may be a Christian as well, and certainly is one of God's children, from your perspective.
So the idea that you would wish him to die a violent death without the chance to possibly express remorse, is hardly what i would understand to be a Christian attitude to another human being.
Judgement is for your God, not for you, so, as a confirmed Christian, you shouldn't be wishing to jump the gun.
That attitude belongs to non-believers like me, except i seem to be more of a 'Christian' in this regard than you - I don't wish medieval punishments on people to satisfy my own primeval need for revenge.

I am telling you, and just you Khnadro, you are not being Christian.
I couldn't personally care less, but on other threads, and probably in the future, you will be parading your Christian credentials front and centre.
If want to talk it, you have to walk it.
fripfrip - // Maybe the rioters thought it could be their children next. //
I think you are crediting the ritoers with a level of intelligence and thought that, by definition, they clearly do not possess.
People with the imagination to consider their own families don't mark the tragic loss of others by burning police cars and hitting police personel.
Mushroom - If he is declared 'unfit to plead' it will be because that is the result of rigorous tests by highly qualified experts who will have examined him at length.
It's a process designed to ensure that people are not tried unfairly when they are not in a position either to understand what is happening, or able to offer an appropriate defence.
It's not a 'get out of jail free card', even though it may appear to be exactly that.
Let's be honest, most of those rioting couldn't care less who committed the murders, they just took the opportunity to attack those they hate.
The real consequences of the riot was to add even more stress and pain in the people of Southport, who have quite frankly been through enough without the idiotic actions of these morons.
