Reports are saying he's on the spectrum, has Autism.

Reports from whom?

Mentioned just now on Radio 4 news.

Mentioned just now on Radio 4 news. - -  I heard it too, so it must eb true !

On this  it seems he will be found ( jury decision) fit enough to plead.

'When arguing that the judge should impose reporting restrictions preventing Rudakubana's identification, the prosecution said the suspect had an “autism spectrum disorder diagnosis”, and that he had been “unwilling to leave the house and communicate with family for a period of time”.'

//Not a very Christian approach is it?/You seem to know, please tell us. //

yeah I was thinking this. - when there is a murder noone says:

" oh my ! He is a christian, doesnt he  know the OT has a precept "Thous shalt not kill" ( 6th commandment) - oh  me oh my!"

and they named Venable and Thompson

Peter Pedant 18.48.  You've got the wrong end of the stick.  Read the posts again.

do I HAVE to miss ? it was bad enough the first time round

No, you don't have to.  You can carry on making a fool of yourself if you like.  Your choice.

Named this evil creature.  Now string it up.

On BBC, the name was posted at 12:30 and at 13:29 this was posted:

Inside the court room, the judge said an order preventing Rudakubana being named until his 18th birthday would have "little practical effect in terms of protecting the welfare of the defendant or his family".

Judge Andrew Menary said the "balance clearly comes down in favour of the public interest in allowing full reporting of these proceedings".

"Continuing to prevent full reporting at this stage has a disadvantage of allowing others up to mischief to continue to spread misinformation in a vacuum," the judge said.

Rudakubana is due to turn 18 next week.

And at 15:50 the BBC posted this:

When arguing that the judge should impose reporting restrictions preventing Rudakubana's identification, the prosecution said the suspect had an “autism spectrum disorder diagnosis”, and that he had been “unwilling to leave the house and communicate with family for a period of time”.

PP 18.43 ...That's not the year you were born that was the time of your answer. What I would give to be on that jury .Giving my name as "Albert Pierrepoint"

Gulliver  - That's one of the many reasons to be glad you're not.

Have you ever seen a rabid dog? I have (in India) it wasn't the dog's fault it was rabid, but the only thing to do for its sake & everyone around, was to shoot it, which happened.

Khandro - Making apparent connection between a diseased dog and a potentially mentally disrupted human being I'd denting your Christian breastplate even further...

So, back on topic, the reason that the 17-year-old suspect, with autism spectrum disorder diagnosis, that had been unwilling to leave the house and communicate with family for a period of time, was named, was that continuing to prevent full naming him - as would normally be the case for a 17-year-old - had the disadvantage of allowing others up to mischief to continue to spread misinformation in a vacuum, with despicable results.

The difference is  -  one doesnt have rabies.
