it is the law that underage offenders cannot be named to the press until a judge makes an exception... the authorities were obeying the law and had no real choice but to do so.
why couldn't people just wait a couple of days to learn his name? what possible reason was there to go on a rampage in muslim neighbourhoods and attack random people in the street? some people just decided that he was a muslim and that all muslims had to be punished for his crime.

I'm afraid that's what happens when people suffer losses of loved ones or friends when large numbers of such atrocities are committed by people whom (they believe) have no right to be in the country.
I'm not condoning their actions by any means, I'm simply explaining them. People see footage on the TV of new arrivals, overwhelmingly black young men, in their tens of thousands. They see them being ferried ashore by the UK authorities; they learn that they are immediately provided with accommodation and healthcare (which many already here struggle to secure); they assume that many of them are muslims and they also learn that many of them commit violent crimes. It's no good explaining to them that he was born in Cardiff because they don't care. He is black and stabbed their children. They put two and two together and come up with 94.
It's what happens when people see their country being shafted and are told there is nothing that anybody can do about it. So long as that continues people will behave in this way, especially when something like that which happened in Southport occurs. The UK authorities are presiding over this and are responsible for it because they will not take action to prevent these illegal arrivals. Unless and until they do, people will behave in this way.

Tragically, your summary of the situation is chillongly accurate.
This level of mob violence is only ever going to increase until the issue of assylum seekers is immediately and effectively addressed.
Labour's notion of 'smashing the gangs' is a wonderful headline grabber, but of course it is meaningless. The notion of help from a government that already despises ours, and is happy for the immigrants to pass on through France on their way here, is a laughable idioicy, one step down from flying them to a country that has already provided fleeing refugees who have been allowed to stay here because the previous government's desitnation of choice was deemed too dangerous for them to return!
We have to sort this situation out - both the assylum issue, and the mob rule that is using it as an excuse for rioting and vandalism.
These are dangerous times, we must act now.
