I'm having a very frustrating time with my computer this evening and all the delights of this evening's meeting has been lost by my computer so, in order to get this meeting of the Mad Over Fifties Club underway I'm taking a short cut.
The Tailcock: Summer Rain
Hot Plate Special: Spicy Spanish Chicken with patatas bravas and allioli
The Pudding Trolley: Crema Catalana (Spanish version of creme caramel)
The Minstrels will be playing Madrigals and Fugues in the gallery and later on they have threatened to give us their take on the Greatest hits of Jon Bon Jovi
As always the hot tub bubbles, the bungee is nice and bouncy, the moat is still full of piranhas, (the bungee has been moved to it no longer bounces into the moat - elf and safety) the grounds of the Towers are open to all members of MOFC, as are the rowing boats on the lake, the games room is available to all as is the swimming pool in the basements.
Since we didn't hold the rofl last week, all prizes have been "rolled" over for tonight's draw.
A warm welcome awaits all who dare enter these portals

Nungate, my mother was laft handed. They tied her left hand behind her back at school. Never could tell left from right, could not navigate but did the most beautiful sewing and other handiwork using her right hand.
Madame, plan B?
well done mammar - the most famous leftie is Phil Mickleson of golf fame - he not only uses his chopsticks right handed but actually writes right handed.....just plays gold left handed!
golf not gold.....
'Ow are we doing with those cannons?
Are you sure you didn't lend 'em to that lady what was having that special birthday do in London? She's going to have one 'ell of a party with all them soldiers.
You know, i thought my mind was wandering a bit, but after reading all these posts, i am sure its not me, its the rest of you.

Daisy, they used to take the chalk from my hand and put in in my right when I started school, but I just shifted it back. The one thing they were unable to do was teach me to knit! I sew with both hands (not at the same time though) and I can use scissors with both too, but I must wield a knife in my left. I played tennis and table tennis right handed, and I throw with my right but kick with the left - I'm just a mass on contradictions! I want to know what they had against being a leftie!
Wife: "What would you do if I died? Would you get married again?"
Husband: "Definitely not!"
Wife: "Why not - don't you like being married?"
Husband: "Of course I do."
Wife: "Then why wouldn't you remarry?"
Husband: "Okay, I'd get married again."
Wife: "You would? (with a hurtful look on her face)."
Husband: (makes audible groan).
Wife: "Would you sleep with her in our bed?"
Husband: "Where else would we sleep?"
Wife: "Would you replace my pictures with hers?"
Husband: "That would seem like the proper thing to do."
Wife: "Would she use my golf clubs?"
Husband: "No, she's left-handed."
- - - silence - - -
Husband: "Sugar."

There's nothing wrong with us that a little sanity might help Annieigma but why would we want that? Come on join us, loosen off your corsets and dive on into the the madness
As long as you are not criminally insane, you should be alright, annie. Welcome.
Nungate, that brought back memories. At school the needlework teacher called me and me best pal out in class and asked us which of us was left handed. Then promptly gave my pal a detention. She'd copied my homework and on all the diagrams the stitches sloped as if stitched by a leftie.
I thread a needle with my left hand. Pick up and pour things with the hand nearest to the object. Have difficulty co-ordinating the twoo together.
Question Author
Funny that, both Queenie and I cross stitch and her top crosses are the opposite to mine, yet I stitch with both hands
I use my mouse left handed (when I have one), can bat either hand, play golf left handed, stronger on my left foot, but can't write or use chopsticks (with ease) left handed.
That's better....you have such soothing hands tone !....Thanks for my fresh sparkly belle....May just keep hold of these plasters for a bit !...slurp....those monster fish still in the moat ?....where's the bungee gone ?.....ouch ! ...just caught a cut on the edge of me sparkles.....Brenda would love these vollys...wonder where she is....sitting on a dune in some desert with a tea towel on her head probably ....slurp ...slurp...
But, DT, if she's not naturally a little alternative like what we are she's going to struggle to understand.
Scientific experiment result: the dipped Kit Kat works nicely thank you. Now, I might try an Aero and see if the Tailcock stays in all them little 'oles.

I had a lot of practice using my right hand to write. I broke two fingers of my left hand as a teenager and had to use my right for writing and other things, which sort of helped with the ambidextrous thing. Mind you it did annoy my cousin, he offered to teach me to play guitar and he restrung one of his to suit a leftie and it turned out I played it right handed - he was cheesed off to say the least.
Ok mammar....can I have a bit of your aero..is it mint ?...yum yum...need annuver summer thing to dip it in...Igor....quick as you like....where's the band gone..?...
Miss MInty, the bungee is now on the south tower, I've placed a few mattresses there to break any falls ... Madame, we must use plan b
Question Author
The band will be back shortly, ah here's Igor plan b definitely
