I love Poundland's books. I have bought about 15 or so since our shop opened in Canterbury.
But I was after a particular book and ordered it in Waterstones. I paid £18.99 and was happy with my purchase... then I walked into the Poundshop and they had the self same book for £1!! So I bought it again, then took the other book back to Waterstones and told them my wife had just informed me she had ordered the book on the internet from Waterstones. Yep, they fell for it and I got a full refund. So was I happy or was I happy? lol

I like to buy plastic conainters to freeze things in. I used to get 5 for £1 in a pack, but last week they changed to 4 in the pack. Its still a bargain.
I feel a bit of a hypocrite though as I prefer not to think of all the stuff being made so cheaply in china and shipped over here in those massive container ships full of cr*p.

Most of it is normal stuff that is bought by the container load. Often they have no idea what they are buying except it is x amount of units.
They have contracts with manufacturers and huge suppliers to take stuff that have been left on the shelves.
Some things in poundland and 99p shops are dearer than in supermarkets, you do have to be careful.
