Can anyone recommend a good lavender oil please? I've bought them in the past and they just didn't smell right somehow. It's mainly for refreshing wheat packs, pillows etc.

Baldwin's of the Walworth Rd in London ( not far from the Elephant and Castle) are true herbalists and do a postal service. They will make it clear whether they are selling the true flower oil or artificial versions.
By the way, they sell wonderful Pot Pourri oils and lots of other perfume oils.

Ditto - Toast

A late good morning. Mr LL went out at 8.00am and I have been laying in bed just musing ever since.
I hate baking, but to be honest it's probably because I am not a great lover of cakes or sweet things (except dark chocolate) I do like coffee and walnut cake and a good farmhouse fruit cake (not rich fruit cake) with a good slab of cheddar cheese.

I used to bake cakes but through all the baking stuff out the cupboards.

If I am hungry, I always turn to savoury and the sweet stuff in buffets never gets touched by me, well rarely.
Oh and Stollen is quite nice too.
Hi all, glad you are feeling more chipper lottie. I have been out for a coffee and a short walk, I didn't wear wellies, I worn my moon boots (like yeti feet) with polythene bags inside to keep me dry! Of course it's sunny now and I am sweating! I wore an old padded anorak, must have looked really strange, and had my earphones in so hop slipped and jumped for a while along the prom, prom prom. Keeping coughing and tasting blood but nothing comes up, so I guess it's OK:

Watched a documentary about the Hollies last night on Sky Arts 1, I didn't realise that they were so talented, thought they just sang and played. Really enjoyed it.

Off now to get back into house clothes and slipper boots.
neti has a tast for blood, this does not bode well.

Just averagely grew and dull here and the snow is still melting. Went to a new play at the Natioanl Theatre last night. I say new, apparently it was performed in Macnhester in 2003 or so, but that doesn't count, it was north of Watford. It was a slice of life and and must have been really easy to write as every second word was fooking. It did grow on me toward the end, though.

Plus I sneaked into a preview of the big Manet show but wasn't all that sold. Too Spanish by half, some of his paintings, all browns and greys and he often hides a paella in the corners.
*grey* and dull.

Hope people are pulling through their illnesses. Keep flapping those wrists, Jude.
Hello all
Ditto toast but with apricot jam and quark.
Snow still laying around ,dull and grey too.
Thanks Robinia....do you have a picture that will help me untangle the knots I've managed to get myself into :)

don't hang yourself. I have sewn together the ends of some of my long scarves to make endless ones, nice looking and they stay in place
I have just pulled out all all the stitches from my newest knitting venture for the second time. I was half way up the back!! The yarn is really lovely and really slippery, and if you drop a stitch, etc or try to go back it is virtually impossible to work with. Grrrrrrrr.
look at the magic trick, the braid, and the twist and pull
Lottie you popped in...I hate dropping stitches.
They slide off the needle so easily with this yarn, and if one drops then in quickly descends through multiple rows without getting stuck and picking them up is well night impossible. I shall never buy such yarn again!!! I am starting it again with a front piece first. I am bored with doing the back over and over again.

I should point out that its multicoloured DK wood made up of strands of Viscose, Wool and Acrylic and looks quite silky. Avoid it like the plague. I will persevere and get their in the end. I can wear it as a bedjacket in the Care Home in 20 years time!!

The cardigan, not the crossover top,

I thought it would be nice in the summer :o(
Oh Woofy you're a star .I searched for ages looking something ...wanders off with scarf .....If I don't come back you will of course all realise that I've managed to tie myself to my dressing table .
Pick them up with a crochet hook Lofty :)

That's what I do Shaney, use a crochet hook. But with that thread it is well night impossible and the colours make it worse. It is all random and you can't even see the dropped stitch. :o(
Shall have to stick to chunky wool where the dropped stitch at the very least is visible.
Yes woofy you are a star,, I am going to try it now, it looks so simple.

Have just had one soft boiled egg on cheese on toast, and the another boiled egg with toast, it's one of those eating days.
Lottie, that is marvellous, but how on earth can you knit that, I would take to my bed at the mere thought of it!
