I'm probably being a really dumb biddy but I don't do much on-line shopping!
Next are offering free delivery but where do you put the code? As you 'add to bag' it makes out your order but I don't see a space for special codes and the total adds on the delivery charge.
Hope this makes sense, I'm losing the plot today. Thanks.

ne'er mind shaney, we'll have the lovely Neil Dudgeon to look forward to. I want something snyggy...where is syggys r us? do they deliver? :o)

Oh dear Lottie & Jude, what a lot we are today, I could sit & bawl for no legitimate reason..good thing it's too late for me to start cooking chicken I'd probably mess mine up too. Not a good thing I left it (fresh portions) outside the back door on the way in - I was looking for the bird food, in the bottom of my trolley, they were queueing up when I came home. Good thing it's cold out there.
Hope you/we all feel better tomorrow.

Oh yes, a legitimate reason - got the gas/leccy bill! <wails inconsolably>
Oh great

Now I have to be wary of potatoes and rice and I use rapeseed oil for cooking. That's all I need!!

Logging off now. Hopefully we will all feel better tomorrow. I hate dark days like this!!
sending you all a cyberhug and one of my favourite poems

Sometimes

Sometimes things don't go, after all,
from bad to worse. Some years, muscadel
faces down frost; green thrives; the crops don't fail,
sometimes a man aims high, and all goes well.

A people sometimes step back from war;
elect an honest man; decide they care
enough, that they can't leave some stranger poor.
Some men become what they were born for.

Sometimes our best efforts do not go
amiss; sometimes we do as we meant to.
The sun will sometimes melt a field of sorrow
that seemed hard frozen: may it happen to you

That's lovely woofy...and so much kinder than one of my favourites..

When things go wrong, as they sometimes will,
And life’s a struggle – all uphill,
When money is low and bills are high
And you try to laugh but can only cry,
If things are bad and you want to quit……

…..don’t tell me, I don’t give a sh.........

> > > > > > > > .......:o)
I like that Robi
At work sometimes it all got a bit can do and gung ho so I had this over my desk
"They showed him the job that couldn't be done
He took off his coat and went to it.
He tackled that job that couldn't be done
.....and he couldn't do it."
Oh dear poor biddies, and I've had a good day! Now I feel guilty. Just watched last night's EE and had a little weep but that's about it.

I'll see you all tomorrow and hopefully we'll all be cheered up, after all we are not facing such unknown horrors as poor Dolly!

I found that version of Don't Quit in a birthday card & sent it to my sister who'd been having a bit of a tough time ...haha, you have to know someone very well to do that ...and it did make her laugh. The original version used to be on the wall at my gp's surgery...I just know they'd rather have had my version. In fact one of the receptionists probably wrote it :o)

That's true neti, we're grumpy old biddies. Holby was a weepy last night...the hunky surgeon left, I was distraught

STOP TALKING ABOUT THE SWAN!! grrrrr! Could somebody stage it for me please and put the vid on YouTube, I can't play the swan as I don't know what to do but I'll try to get hold of Björk's swan dress and send it to whoever will create that part. What is the plot? I have to know!

So funny (odd funny) you should all have been going on about crossing this day off the calendar. Guess what, today has been a Tycho Brahe day. That's a Scandinavian expression for an unlucky day in general, but more specifically for a certain number of days (thirtytwo) that Danish astronomer Tycho Brahe established to be unlucky. Emperor Rudolf II had demanded that he create such a list. And yes January 12th is on the list... Hate to say it but the next one is January 19th...! No rest for the wicked biddies.

Neti a sticky ('sticky post') is a particularly excellent post that has been "programmed" (by the editorial team) to stay on top of the list in its topic, even though new posts may have been added later that should rightfully go on top. It's like Ed's own posts in Suggs. My Transformer Owl was a sticky last night and this morning, and that's why you, as our leader has already pointed out, should curtsey to me. . . . . I'm waa-ai-ting...

Oh Woofy you still see that owl...! Take a photo?

Look snyggies we need some music in here - join in, everybody, Shaney will be translating as we go https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PmPGMSsfnEg
*whomever*, right
I have tried to take a photo Kit but as soon as I slow the car down, he flies off. It's pitch dark when I am out there so I can't even park up the road and use my zoom. Little owls are cute, they look just like toy owls.
Oh I see, Woofy. Shame. / I grew up with a stuffed Eurasian Eagle-owl staring at me from a bookshelf... so yeah I have a bond with owls.

G'night one and all. Good night owls. Good night possums. Good night popsocks. Good night handbags. Good night itises. Good night Henry. Good night dawgs and cats. Good night snyggies. Good night moon.
Kit that's sweet. reminds me of the Waltons. Blowy and wet here this morning. Shughy barely kept his eyes open to eat his breakfast and is now curled up in a bed by the radiator.
Good morning all and wishing you all a better day today.
DH goes for a PET scan tomorrow. He gets injected with radioactive dye, so will glow in the dark when he comes home (joke) Next week MRI then a final decision on what treatment to give the remaining nasty...not regrowth just a tiny bit the surgeon couldn't get at. Everybody is still being very positive but will be better when next week is over and we have some definite. We are being resolutely cheerful and I have to say that DH seems to be well (wood) He ate a huge plate of home cooked curry last night (Pataks biriani sauce, really good and dead easy) and isn't feeling the cold nearly so much.
Snyggy sounds like something you might get on Etsy. Now there's a place I love to browse.
Just back from airport seeing daughter off for her op, I do hope she's Ok, they said there was no need for me to accompany her, and they are paying for her flights but not mine!

Absolutely lovely day, came home to a strange meowing from the outside laundry room, poor mousey had been locked in there since 9pm last night when I hung the washing out, she is so strange always trying to get into places but I honestly have never known her try this room before, all's well, she fed and watered and is now dozing in the sun!
Good morning Biddyfriends.
Those lines in your poem, Woofy, helped me understand
"The sun will sometimes melt a field of sorrow that seemed hard frozen may it happen to you" Very well received here. I got up and walked to the paper shop etc, felt warmer and then the sun came out and I put my washing out and boy do I feel better.
Still coughing a bit but don't feel so down as I did yesterday, and yes Neti, Dolly must be going through much worse than us.over there. I hope your daughter goes on alright with her op.I'm off for a walk in a bit before my lunch to work up a bit of an appetite. Something else cheered me up as well today. Seeing some blue-tits enjoying the sunflower seeds I've put out for them, they come everyday.
Hope Mr W goes on ok with his scans. I have to admit I don't know what the difference is between them.
Your poem is a good one Robi too.
One a last serious note then I'm off.
Someone once said, 'You can clutch the past so tightly to your chest that it leaves you too full to embrace the present'

Have a good day all of you and If the sun is shining where you are enjoy it and if it's not it will do soon.
Best quote I heard from from Jodi in Eastenders, "If you start married life as a doormat, you end up a bum roll" hilarious!!

Morning all...well this isn't on, sunny, blue skies, mild? tut...I've got some boots here & I need to have my money's worth. My sister says there's always next year :o/

I laughed at that too neti, but I think that scene was inserted to cover something else that was originally due to be shown. The funeral scenes with Kat were different (unless I missed a bit), in some pictures I'd seen she was carrying the coffin... and now the storyline's been cut short. Quite right too, they took it way too far.

Shaney there's another episode of Midsomer with Tom, Fit for Murder, but not sure when it'll be shown. I didn't get to see it last night, Charlie was restless & I was too tired to concentrate anyway.

Hope all goes well for your daughter neti, try not to worry...and I told Chas about how cruel you are locking Mousey cat in the laundry room and he said, 'nice one, you sound like my kind of woman' :o)
And best wishes for Mr W tomorrow...how about a keep fit routine? :o)

Just got back Robi and taken washing in. Think it's going to rain. Your boots may get an airing today yet.,
I started to watch Midsomer Murders but fell asleep and woke up at 10.20 so I don't know how it finished. Might see if it is on iplayer this afternoon. So don't tell me how it finished.
Hi Biddies. Quite bright here and not all that cold, but rain threatens. Just come back from the Garden Centre where I have a had a super huge home made cheese scone and two large mugs of black coffee. We also looked around the plants section outside. First time in months!!

Best wishes for your daughter Neti.
Glad you are feeling better Jude.

Am now going to get changed into scruffs and do a bit more clearing out. A bit more!! ha, ha. That won't be difficult - I didn't do any the last time!!

See you soon.

xx
