With Brexit out of the way (?!) can we now turn to more momentous issues? I refer to those posed by St Augustine in reference to Creation; Who made it? By what means? & Why?

Eh?

No answers ? You've not been paying attention.
Haaaa! You need to read it slowly, Zacs, but if it helps, Theland claims to know what is going on here. Does anyone know what he’s going on about?

Khandro, Where’s your answer?
Lots of answers/, opinions, khandro. Nobody has given a definitive answer- because nobody knows and we have a lot of unanswered questions still.
Waiting for Khandro's answer.
And theland's...
You may as well whistle for both, pixie.
I rarely know what Khandro is ‘on about’. Surely you must put people into boxes marked ‘worth debating with’ / ‘not worth debating with’?
Hmmmm ... just two categories?
Whistling away, naomi. You? ;-).
Zacs, if there are people who understand how the world was created, I would genuinely love to know. But everyone who does (apparently) won't seem to give a direct answer.
Is God suddenly very shy?
pix, we’re not at an evolutionary stage where either the scientist or the faithful can give a definitive answer. It would seem that the scientists have the edge but to quote a 1970s pop song, the more questions we answer the more we find out the less we know.

The futility of debating where life or the universe came from in such circumstances is mind numbingly futile
//Is God suddenly very shy? //

Who knows? He hasn't been heard from for 2000 years - and that report was only hearsay.
//The futility of debating where life or the universe came from in such circumstances is mind numbingly futile //

That's precisely what most of us are saying, zacs.
So why carry on?
Without a doubt, zacs :-) (but I am back from just how and being futile). We are also assuming the answer is science or religion... and there may be options we haven't even thought of yet. But if there are a select few who "do" know, it would be nice to find out...
Naomi, there is that... but also anyone who decides to torture people for eternity if they don't worship him every day.... possibly isn't "quite" that shy...
" work just now "... autocorrect hates me. Tbh, zacs, for me at least, my interest is more "why" people believe what they do, than "what".
Because it entertains me, Zacs. If you're not interested in the discussions, why are you interested in 'why'?
Maybe a combination of both, pix? Science and religion, that is.
Or something entirely different that we don't know about even yet.... who knows? Religion has had plenty of time to find a tiny shred of proof, and hasn't yet, so science is obviously winning. But why do people so desperately want to believe something they don't entirely know or understand?
