With Brexit out of the way (?!) can we now turn to more momentous issues? I refer to those posed by St Augustine in reference to Creation; Who made it? By what means? & Why?

So if your husband finds a note saying, "Please put the bin out," it is perfectly reasonable for him to assume that this information originated in your mind, and was your thoughts not gleaned from prior experiences.
Theland, unless you’re saying that God has somehow implanted the thought into my mind that my bins need to go out on a Thursday, I’m not at all sure what you’re getting at. You seem to be trailing this idea from thread to thread. The fact that the earth orbits the sun was no less true before the available information was gathered and processed.

naomi; //...Information is eternal and discovery is the key....?

Without mind, there is no information, & it certainly isn't eternal :0)
Theland//I am not fruitlessly hand wringing but only showing a willingness to discuss and exchange ideas.//

You have never engaged in any discussion of science. You mindless dismiss what is sometimes explained to you in great detail. Either that or ignore it and start a new thread.
Here is one where Theland ran away when his assertion disputing Evolution was thoroughly demolished.

Khandro, //Without mind, there is no information//

Since you regularly duck questions I hesitate to ask, but are you suggesting, as Theland appears to, that all information is born in the mind rather than accumulated and processed by the mind?
Question Author
n. No, 'information' is data, which when processed by the mind becomes knowledge. I say it isn't eternal because the data keeps changing, (as Jeremy Corbyn will tell you)
Khandro, what data keeps changing? The earth orbits the sun and always has - whether we were in possession of that information or not.
Question Author
n. 7 days ago labour had (can't remember) X, MPs, that was knowledge then, & based on real information (data). Today they have Y, so that information no longer applies.

Everything flows and nothing stays.
Everything flows and nothing abides.
Everything gives way and nothing stays fixed.
Everything flows; nothing remains.
All is flux, nothing is stationary.
All is flux, nothing stays still.
All flows, nothing stays.
Πάντα ῥεῖ
Khandro, but that information isn’t a product of your mind. Your mind acquired it from elsewhere.
Khandro has agreed that data isn't originated in the mind, but processed by it //No, 'information' is data, which when processed by the mind becomes knowledge.//
Pixie, I'm not entirely sure what Khandro is talking about - or which side of the fence he's sitting on - but since he's arguing with me it seems he's with Theland on this one. Perhaps he might consider explaining himself a little more clearly.
Khandro is contradicting himself, from earlier. He seems to have changed his mind.
Par for the course.

I think you are reading the "no" in there without the comma (which would have been better with a full stop)
Sorry, but it was a stand-alone answer to Naomi's previous question, "are you suggesting, as Theland appears to etc......"

I'm saying, 'information' is data, which when processed by the mind becomes knowledge.

I know, khandro. I did realise I hadn't needed to c&p the "no" as well. But the point is the same.
Khandro, once again you have slipped into airy-fairy mode leading me, from experience, to suspect that all hope of a sensible conversation is lost, so a straight question that requires a simple ‘yes’ or ‘no’ answer. Do you believe, as Theland does, that all information originates in the mind?
To be honest, I think theland often changes his mind as well, about what "information" means... in different questions or examples, it seems to mean anything from information, data, thoughts, ideas, creativity, even knowledge (like knowing when the bins go out). And those are not all interchangeable words meaning the same thing.
Question Author
naomi; For Pete's sake, NO! What is in the mind is knowledge, acquired by processing data - which is constantly changing.
Khandro, don't 'For Pete's sake!' me! Your failure to articulate your thoughts adequately is your failure - not mine. Have you booked that intensive course in good manners yet? Go on - give yourself - and the rest of us - a Christmas present.
