need to renew my computer security and have used Kaspersky the last couple of years, no problems with it, and recommended by a friend who is a computer boffin. However i can't find one under about 25 quid on line, and tried once to download from the Barclays website as it was free but that proved a nightmare, so anyone know where can buy it cheaper than 25 quid. i have looked at Amazon, but seems about the same cost. i user moi, and one computer, for 2014.

jomifl - with security suites such as kaspersky or norton you are always paying for a 1 year licence, they don't give it to you for life for a one-off payment
emmie, we are ok thanks, we are still trying to get advice on the situation and have people to talk to today hopefully. We are down to damage limitation and looking at options to move.

try to stay where you are, i would get the best solicitor money could buy, what has happened to the animals?
Re: Kaspersky from Barclays....you WILL get the 2014 version.
Question Author
why does it say 2013, i don't want to register and download it if it the 2013 which i already have and is about to expire in the next few weeks.
emmie, I dont think we can stay here now, the rent is now unaffordable, our Landlady has a dreadful reputation for being virtually bankrupt and very difficult to deal with, I don't think we can run a business under a landlady that is so difficult to work with. We still have all the animals, we are going to try and rent a field with stabling for the horses and alpacas, we aren't sure about the chickens yet. We will see how the next week pans out and then we will start making decisions. As for solicitors, having spent so much setting all this up we wont be spending vast amounts on solicitors, we just don't have it any more, we need to keep a little in reserve for the move etc.
emmie: no idea! And even if you were to get 2013 version...it's a very easy thing to update to 2014.
I renewed last October (2013 version) and updated within minutes to 2014. Trust me...no problem.

any free advice like CAB, do you have one anywhere near where you can get expert legal advice. I hope you can some place near by you seemed to have wanted this for a long while, terrible shame that it's been scuppered for an unscrupulous person.

ginge, thanks will have a look. I confess i am never comfortable trying to download stuff, it always seems to go tits up.
Bibble, it didn't used to be like that..

this will be my fourth year with Kaspersky, it has proved to be good, reliable, i had Norton before, but found it way too dear. i might have a look around at some of the techy shops in town, i remember the first internet Kaspersky i paid a tenner for
Re: Microsoft Security Essentials: anybody who relies on this, should read what Microsoft itself has said about it (I'll paraphrase: it's not very good and you should use something else).....
