Electricity In Dubai?
Can anyone confirm that the electricity in Dubai is 220v, and that the plugs are the same as UK ie 3 pin? Thank you.

well, the day today
Decorators are mostly finished except they've found damp on the kitchen wall coming through from the bathroom so we'll have to think about that. The dust sheets are gone and so is most of the dust. ahchoo. So we can close the windows and keep out the tsunami of fluff. ahchoo.
Have just killed mosquito,
I think I'm about even on the day.
Got a new crown. Queen will be envious. I can eat on both sides again.
Made an appointment to see doctor as my knee is giving me gyp and has been for weeks.
PC screen went black. OH fixed it by plugging it into a different socket. Neither of us has any idea how that was supposed to make any differene, but it did. (OH's father was an electronics whiz who built his own TV back in the 50s; it seems to be genetic.)

Afternoon each and every. By heckbit is sweltering here. Found a wasps nest by accident by our garden gate. I was trimming whatever plant it is and almost cut the nest, they swarmed and I stepped back and didn't move as I was scared. Then I ran for it, was only wearing my wrap. So Mr N swipes the nest and it fell to the ground but now the wasps are looking for it in the hedge. He'll have to spray then tonight.

You're doing well there Jno unlike us with our garden work but at least the shed base is down now.Things are progressing very, very slowly.I may be able to sit on the tete round about September at this rate .

Evenin all...yes, it absolutely hammered it down all morning here too. Very windy and dull this afternoon and I've had yet another headache.
Gardener didn't show up yesterday, had a feeling he wouldn't. I wish I could predict the lotto numbers as easily, maybe I could employ someone full time ...gardener/decorator/chauffeur ...and easy on they eye.
I don't think I've seen any wasps this year, they must have gone to live on Ibiza.
Shame Kerber didn't win, she played well.

Just had veggie pad Thai that hija brought home from work last night, I added some king prawns it was delicious except for the tasteless tofu in it.
Hija has gone off with friends on a private yacht to Formentera (small neighbouring island) for a night of Flower Power on the beach. It's a yearly event and gets crowded, she took my flowery headband, won't see that again. Would love to be there too.

Really stuffy here .I've been wandering around the rooms looking at my temperature thingys.It's 25C in the front room and 24C here in the kitchen.My new outdoor thermometer says 19C.
Freddie the Frog mark 2 broke a leg so now I have one with a goldfinch on it.
In other words ...phew ..it's warm.

I forgot to tell you about my new friend ,next doors dog.He's one of these doodle dogs.I don't the proper name but he's a bit bigger than a spaniel with the long ears but a black curly coat .Poodle /spaniel cross ? What a sweetie .I could dogknap him.
He's a friendly chap and stands up on the low bit of fence at the side for me to make a fuss of him but has now twigged that if he stands there with a toy in his mouth I'll throw it for it him.He's adorable.

Weather muggy and undecided. According to the met it won't rain, Accu say showers at 2pm but hopefully I'll be watching Murray about to win Wimbledon.
That's lovely shaney, the kind of nosey neighbour you welcome :) I don't think my neighbours are animal lovers. I know they have a lot of criticism, designer dogs, overpriced etc but I love the 'oodle' dogs.
There's enough food in the world, I don't need to eat tofu, it looks horrible. I don't need to eat olives, sushi, squid or other rubbery creatures either.

Morning all. Gosh it's a stinker today. Just nipped out to laundry room and it's only a few meters away but what a relief to get inside, unbearably hot. Have to do my roots today. I was wearing the frosted look, but it's gone beyond frosted now, was going to low light it but can't find streaking hat so cba!
