I think if you want discount shopping, you go to 'Woodbury Common' which is about an hour away on the bus. Am planning a visit there in November (if I can walk after doing the marathon)....
century 21 is great, its opposite ground zero,so you can do both in one trip.
Chinatown for knock off bags, purses etc- just listen for the Chinese women whispering " Louis, Chanel, Gucci " at you as you walk up Canal Street
We liked Manhattan Mall near Times Square and also Soho was very good for shopping.

Our favourite was Old Navy (owned by Gap) which is casual clothes at a low price
First stop is Century Twenty One, which is sort of similar to tk maxx ( but more upmarket ) it is opp ground Zero and to the side of the Millenium Hilton. The signage is pretty poor, a sign on a first floor level flat roof - that is dwarved by it's surroundings.

For electricals and games the best place is J and R in Lower Manhatten. http://www.jr.com/
it is a bit dirty on the outside but persevere the savings are worth it, check opening hours before you set off though.

There are streetmarkets in Midtown on some weekends, these are always worth a look. Haggle with the dodgy handbag sales man especially if business is slow : I got two for 30 Bucks for my sisters.
You are sooooooo lucky !
Century 21 has a big shoe/boot department . Chinatown has some lovely boutiques try a shop called Peony Red 217 Centre Street lovely silks, handbags, jewellry and very reasonable. Have a coffee in Macy's while you rest your feet ! There's so much to see - you'll have a great time.
